I tried several of the new ones and felt as though I want to go to the nearest bridge and jump.

Hello all.  I just found this forum.   I was diagnosed with fibro in January after years and years and years of pain and tests  and vicodin.

The doc has put me on 300mg of Lyrica twice a day and 60 mg of Cymbalta twice a day.
I can't remember anything anymore.  I'm so much more tentative in my conversations with people and I've gained 12 pounds.   I hate it.   I feel like I am full of fluids in my joints and around my heart.

I'm so sleepy all the time.  I sleep 10 to 12 hours a night and want a nap by the time I get to work.

How does everyone deal with the fatigue?  Does anything help?

If I don't stop gaining weight, I'll have to go off the meds and take my chances with the pain.

Thanks
Candy

I tried Savella and did not do well at all.  It is (my dr says) one of those that either works really well, or not at all and has been known to raise the blood pressure.  Be sure to keep an eye on that.  I felt much the way you describe your reaction.  My blood pressure went nutts and I felt so awfull.  At one point I was so frightened that I almost went to the ER.  Then DUH! I thought to check the BP and I quit taking it and contacted my DR.

I have been on Savella since some time last summer (after many go rounds with the insurance company).  I found really good results in the beginning.  Unfortunately, the Dr. believes the fibro has been spawned from lupus so the flares from both can be a struggle.  The savella does not seem to have much of an effect on the lupus flares.  I often wonder though if being able to take the anti inflammatories would be helpful.  I am 3 year out from WLS. I started at 292 and am now at 148.  The savella did cause additional weight loss once I started it. (I had leveled off but then started losing again.)

I hope all things so well for you.

Get off that stuff. I had heart problems too racing heart beat high blood pressure all kinds of stuff and yes all of it if you read are side affects. It made me so sick for 2 months I tought I would have a stroke which yes it can give you. Pull out side affect paper it is bad news. Lyrica is also It works for a few years but yes I gained 40lbs in a month all of a sudden and cause my arms to flail all over uncontrolled.(Not listed in side affets by the way)  I gave up on it all I am even trying to quit Cymbalta, seems all these meds have made it worse. been sick since 1998 or before with it and give up on all these drugs way to many side affects.

I'm off the savella, I couldn't handle the side effects. Had an appt with my rheumatologist yesterday, he gave me a couple other meds to ask my pain management dr about? Have been thinking seriously about just seeing one of these guys. Since I am the one having to do the communication between them, yes gave my consent for them to talk about me. Lol
guess they're both just too busy to get it together?
One was a brand new med that was just released a couple weeks ago.
Pennsaid and Xyrem. CVS doesn't even have these in their pc system yet.
Pharmacist said if I have an energy problem I should request provigil.
This is getting long if you would like to chat pm me.

I've been on Savella for a year and never had a problem, I would call my Dr right away and let him know, there might be something that you're have a reaction to. Good luck.
