My shoulders have been hurting me so bad. My PCP did Xrays.
Then I just got back from the orthopedic doc and he said my right shoulder is major bone to bone and a lot of spurs. He said that the tendons in the right one are being pinched now. the left one is not bone to bone yet but he is worried because the bigs spurs he is afraid they are tearing from the spurs now. He did give me a cortisone shot in the left one. He said if it does not help it I need to call him and get in for a MRI right away. I told him I feel like I am in a race to see if I can replace the parts before I die....
I already have two knee replacments.  Fun Fun He did say that the shoulders are very minor compaired to knees and hips.

Life can be fun .....

Oh sweetie I know how you feel! Since 2004 I've had a hip replacement, several breast biopsies and eventually breast cancer, broken left foot and leg, broken right leg , surgery on my right foot and waiting to have my left foot operated on. If I don't have at least one surgery a year it's not really a good year! I think I've single handedly built a new wing on the local hospital! My hip was bone on bone and it sure did feel great when it was fixed, I hope your shoulder comes out the same. It's not bad enough to have the fibro we get this nonsense too, aren't we lucky? Best wishes to you!

Hi Pam I had my left shoulder reconstructed back in 2007 I am thankful I had it done will I ever do it again no. My doctor at the time stated I will need a new complete shoulder in about ten years. I will just deal with it lol. I hope you do have some one at home to assist you in your daily activitys. I am thankful I did have it done I can use my shoulder now. Once in a while it will pop back in but I no longer have the pain in my shoulder.

I don't have knowledge of shoulders, but if I were you I would get the MRI to see what is going on in there.  I had both torn cartilage in my hip with moderate arthritis and osteopenia. After 8 months of pain, 11 days ago I had a total hip replacement. I don't know if the fibro kicks up the pain, but I'm still in  extreme pain on the max dose of meds(4 oxycodone every 4 hours) and run out of the meds tomorrow (sunday).  I tried calling today for a refill and they won't refill this without being seen I'm told and the clinic is closed until tuesday  I don't  know what to do-show up at the er and try and get a refill?  The original amount they wrote me for would have only held me over if I had only needed half of the max dose.  This past week, I had called the clinic twice to see if it was common to be in this much pain and they weren't concerned since I don't have a fever and the incision site looks good to me, though the pain is almost unbearable.

That does not sound right. I had two knee replacements 4 yrs apart and they claim knees are worse than all. I would go to emergency ward if you had to, something does not sound right.
Please let us know how you are.

Thanks, Pam, for your response.  I know that in the past that all of the several surgeries I have had, pain has definitely been hard to control due to the fibro .  I used the last oxycodone I had 5 hours ago and tried  Vicodin about 30 min ago with no help so far.   I was taking Vicodin at one point for the fibro (not much help then, so have a supply left.)  I agree with you though - even with fibro I should have had some pain relief by now following the surgery.  It's such a deep, pulling type ache pain with shooting burning type pain in the sciatic nerve since surgery,  I had had an open RNY, but had to say that even as painful as that was, I was slowly having some pain relief each day.  As much as I hate to, I might make a trip into the ER tonite.

Thanks, Anne
