Is is me or is this the WORST winter EVER for us with Fibromyalgia?

 My Dear Fibro Sisters,

I hope this finds you in better health and spirits than I find myself. I am sorry to "vent." I live in the Washington Metro area-we have had several "small" snow storms and are expecting 24 inches today into tomorrow! I am sore and tired and just in the foulest of moods. I am dog sitting for dear friends who have a great house-but my apartment the super does the shoveling. My go to meds and "fixes" are not working. I may just head to bed with my dog, my heating pad and remote.

I took the dog for a walk thinking it might help-not so much! The dog was happy! Times like this makes me wish I had a boyfriend!

Love to all!
Sue

Dogs are always better than boyfriends!I don't know if it's worse or it's just me getting older. It does seems fewer things help that used to. I just pray some brilliant scientist comes up with a complete cure, can you even imagine what a relatively painfree life would be like?! I can't even remember the last time I was pain free. Best wishes to you and gentle hugs.

I hear you! I know dogs are better than boyfriends-but boyfriends shovel! We have over a foot on the ground now (8 AM) and it's still snowing and blowing! I too don't think I know what being pain free feels like anymore. We can only hope and pray for something soon! I appreciate your support. Hugs to you and your dog!

I'm having the worst time this winter. It's been unusually wet and cold this winter. I'm in the process of switching meds for the pain and it's made everything worse. I can't wait till it warms up! Hope you find some relief.

I agree, I seem to being hurting alot more lately, I thought it was just me. I am almost one year out, and know I don't exercise like I should for  weight loss, health reasons or fibromyalgia. But I seem to hurt and can't seem to push myself to do what I know I need too. Since I can't take my motrin anymore, pain seems worse and all they would allow as NSAIDS is celebrex which does nothing for me. I also think that during winter months I have alittle SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Have been reading alot about that lately and know due to dreary days, overcast and work hours not getting enough sun. It also says you can crave carbs more, which I have been since darker hours starting earlier. Find myself just wanting to curl up in blanket on couch and not due much this time of year. I know that's not  right and will cause more pain, but can't seem to get motivated. Seem in more pain and more depressed.  I hope you find something that  helps you. Good Luck.  JoAnn

I live in Frederick- just moved here from Crofton.  MAN, do I feel you on the weather!  Do you know we are supposed to get another 18-20" tomorrow too?  I just posted my own vent/whine here.  I am DYING.  Ive never been in so much pain- and of course, Im in between meds too- so that isnt helping anything.  Ive been so *****y lately, and I know a lot of it is personal stuff going on in my life (LOTS of really heavy, sad, scary, frustrating stuff going on) but Its never been this bad...  Im just praying for a miracle at this point.  Ugh.

Hope you fare well tomorrow.  Warm, gentle hugs to you my Maryland friend!

I been hurting alot more this winter more that I have in previous winters. I live in southern Ga and yes we have had mild winters but this year has been really cold. I noticed that the weather has been more gloomy than ever here. So much rain seem to bother my arthritis too.
I know pain is my friend but one I wish I could get rid of.

YES!  It is the worst winter ever.  I live in Utah.  We get a lot of snow and cold (but, not so much this year).

Hang in there everyone.  It will be warmer some day.

We're all in this together and we can make it through (except those days when we really can't)!

Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I am sorry to have taken so long to reply. I am now watching TWO dogs. Who are trying so hard to be good but one is older and one is a puppy. They are being very sweet to each other for the most part. We are snowed in again! I did move from one house to another-so the change of scenery is nice. As is the fact that these people hired someone to plow the driveway and shovel the walk. The other family can't get home from LA. I was fortunate to get to my pain doctor to get refills. We opted not to change anything because of the change in weather. She told me not to shovel (forgot to get that in writing!)! I too know together with each others support we can survive this winter. I am not one to post a whole lot but I do check in. Please feel free to PM me too!

Hang in there, keep warm, safe and in good spirits!
