Is SO bad right now :(  The past 3 days, my sciatic has been acting up.  Im so weak, and the pain is just awful- I havent been able to do anything.  Nothing is giving me relief.  Ive taken 1 Lortab and 2 Fioricet (these are supposed to be my migraine meds) today, I smell like a damn gum factory with all the Icy Hot Ive slathered on, Ive been sitting on a moist heat pad, and nothing.  My hips feel broken.  I really dont think the Cymbalta is gonna do it for me- my Dr upped my dosage to 60mg a few days ago, and I know it takes weeks for full effect- but still!  Im getting really *****y, impatient, unhappy and testy from the pain.  UGH!  I HATE this disease!

Sciatic pain is miserable and the cymbalta probably won't do much for it. It's gonna take some strong pain meds to get relief. You may even need to investigate a pain clinic. I got some relief with a chiroprator until I was able to get into the pain clinic. Best wishes to you and hope you are able to get some relief soon!

You poor thing!  Life is really tough right now.  It seems like even nature is against us.  All the storms we have been having are killing me.

Hang in there.  I've been ill for 14 1/2 years.  It is really rough.

Have you tried Lyrica?  It helps some people.  Try taking a really hot bath.

I, too, am really testy.  Well, I think testy is a major understatement.  I really want to just scream.  But, that takes too much energy and will, ultimately, just make things worse.

When I am really bad, I take some benadryl.  I don't know why it helps (and it really shouldn't), but, it does help.

You might try taking an anti-inflammatory (like motrin or naprosin) for the sciatica.

Just breathe in and out and take it one second at a time.  I really agree with the others that you need to find a pain clinic.

You are not alone.  Hang in there.  You can do it.

This must be sciatic season! Mine is killing me constantly! I'm on pretty significant pain meds and really no relief.
My PM doc sent to physical therapy and she confirmed that I am hypermobile (double-jointed) this has been linked to FM alot.

Basically my muscles are worn out from trying to hold my joints together (picture me as one of those wooden toys where you push the bottom and it collapses). My joints are so wiggly that they are pinching various nerves.

Guess what the treatment plan is? Total body strengthening exercises! Just what I want to hear when I can barely walk.

If you've ever been told "You're pretty flexible for a fat chick" (usually by an a hole in a dimly lit room) then you may want to look into Hypermobility.

We are all in this together! Gentle (((hugs))) to all.

LOL-love your description!  I also have hyper-flexion ...  I do PT when I have issues and I too have been told exercise and strengthening is the way to "help FM".  But, um...  when Im too exhausted to get off my damn couch, and in too much pain to walk- how the hell do you expect me to do ANYTHING?  They need to come up with a better treatment plan for FM....  This just SUCKS!  I was up till 4am last night in such pain.  I have so much to do today, and I feel awful that I missed most of the day with my family...

Yes last night in between sleeping and trying to get to sleep I'd turn over and HURT every where. I was thinking when it even hurts to turn over laying in bed HOW do they expect us to "exercise " so we will 'feel " better ummmmmmmmmmm how does that work???????????

Gentle hugs your way
