Had rny in march and feel like pain increased from my fibro. can't take my motrin anymore, only celebrex which does nothing for me. Have had to increase amount of vicodin and soma and lyrica I take just to get by. I'm a nurse, and don't take when working, so in lots of pain all day now. Also, I think since i've lost more than 100 pounds, can move  better, so probably do more activity than used to, so more pain. Don't know how I'll keep working another 15 years. Just seems like pain worse and constant now.

Sorry about all your pain. I do understand. I had a brief period of alot of relief when the weight was flying off. Was elated at the increase of mobility and know happiness helps alot, stress affects us a whole lot. I had to go on disability after surgery due to fibro and DDD, advanced OA. Got told it would all go away after wls but if that were true why do naturally small people have back and body pain. I had a great job too and its hard to give up and takes time to accept it. I lost alot of friends due to pain issues, 2 back surgeries affecting my ability to rip and run with them. Glad they can handle it and pray that lasts for them. Hurts to be their friend when life is good but when it goes sour for me they do not want to hear it. Reap what you sow, dont wi**** on them but know how life works.
Hope you get a pain regimen that will work for you. After 2 back surgeries alot of meds do not help me either.
Hugs and hopes for better pain relief for you!

I am almost 4 years post-op and my pain is much  much worse on the average than it was pre-surgery.  I never realized just how petite (what a strange word to  me) I am nor how flat and knobby my tailbone is!  I had to go to the place to renew my driver's lisence the other day and I sat on those hard plastic chairs for three hours, I thought I was gonna die:-(  I am also a nurse but am now running a large Medical Records Department with 4 staff.  I had hoped to lose the weight and feel better, thus go back to nursing but it's not happening for me:-(  So I realize that if this old gal wants to wor****il I can afford to retire (and Uncle Sam still has SS funds for me) then I know I gotta work a job that's alot less stress, alot less physical.  I also take MSM, the usual vitamins we're told to take post-surgery and at night I take tofranil to help me sleep, requip for the restless leg stuff which  helps alot, half a percocet and a quarter of an Ambien.  I sleep much better which really helps with the pain/brain fog the next day.  I went back on 600 mgs of Motrin TID too a year after surgery.  I've had no issues with it whatsoever.  But I always take it with food.  One thing I've learned that with me, less is more.  I do better overall.  I also do not do processed carbs, only real food passes these lips which has been shown to also help with fibro flare ups.  I think it's vital to figure out what works best for us individually and then stick with that, tweaking if we need to as we go.  I believe that for those of us with special issues that that is the only way we will have the optimal quality of life in the long run.

I have had fibro m. for 5 years now. Before lyrica I was walking with a cane. With lots of meds I have been able to be "okay" but it was not until I found our though my weight loss surgen blood work that I had a vit. D deficency  that I learned causes all of the same symptoms as Fibro. M. I am now taking 5 thousand mg of Vit D. a day (a ton) and feeling really really really great for the first time in years. I also try to expose my skin to the sun for at least 10 min. a day, even in freezing winter. Anti virals make me feel better too. orginally it was to treat high levels of Ebsiten Barr virus that cause MS symptoms over time. Once my Ebstien Barr levels went down I went off of the anti viral and started to spiral down again. I now take lots of D, other vits and pills, lyrica and anti virals every day and am feeling SO MUCH BETTER. I am soposto have surgery lap band in three weeks. I weigh around 250 and I am 36 years old with 4 kids. Do you crush all your pills each day? How? Is it a pain? Do you mix it into a drink?
