Hi Everyone,

My surgery is in 9 days!  I was wondering what types of excersises peopole have found good.
Any DVD routines too would be helpful.
Hints, suggestions, what works, what doesn't...
thanks!!!

My doc always suggests water workouts, but that's not real easy when the nearest pool is 20 miles away. I have a recumbent stationary bike that I use and it helps . The hardest part is finding the happy medium between too much (soreness) and not enough exercise. Good luck with your upcoming surgery!!

I don't exercise much. It throws me into a tailspin.  Be careful not to overdue it.

I also participate at the local Y's water routines. It's low impact so we won't feel the effects as if we're going to curves.

I'm on my feet a lot, so I only need to go to the Y twice a week.  It helps clear the mind and spirit.

Gook Luck!

Yoga does good things for the fibro body by gently strengthening and lengthening the muscles.  DVDs are good, but get yoga for old people, pregnant people, slightly broken people, whatever, but don't buy anything with the word "Ashtanga" on it because that's yoga for the hard cores, and way beyond our capability.  Hatha yoga is good.  Invest in a sticky mat to prevent injuries, and take your sticky mat in the shower with you to give it a good soaping down before you use it, or it will forever be slightly slippy.

FYI, yoga is harder than it looks and can be quite the workout.
