Does any one know the name of the doctor or book he wrote about taking guifenesin for fibromyalgia?  I recently had bronchitis for a few weeks and was taking as an expectorant and found my fibromyalgia felt better. I told my doctor I had heard about a doctor who had written book saying it helped and she was interested in finding out about it. I also would like to read and find out reccommended dosage he suggests. Any help would be appreciated.

Try googling guifenesin for fibromyalgia, I did and it came up with quite a few different sources. Good luck.

Basically the same thing happened to me 9 years ago. I was put on Guafenisin for sinus and I felt better. I have been on 1200mg guafenisin 2 x a day since. If I run out a few days I notice I am more achier. My PCP said she had one other patient that it also helped a lot.

Isn't guai a hard regime to follow?  From what I understand there are so many things that we use every day that work against it, such as foods and hand creams, that getting it to work can be a challenge.

Check with the site www.fibrohugs.org. They send out an online newsletter called Tender Points that frequently has articles from the dr.  I think his name is Dr. Murphee, who talks about guaifenesin for help with fibromyalgia.  I have had similiar experiences with guaifenesin because I have frequent sinus infections.

Good luck with your search!
