Hi,
As some of you may know, I use the fentanyl pain patch and the Norco as a break through med.
Well, I was needing the Norco more than I should because I was still having pain in my hips and knees when I would bend down, and my job consists of bending down to organize bottles (I work for a French bottle manufacturing company) and I play in wine bottles all day. Anyway, I told my pain dr to bump up the Norco, but they said they wanted to bump up the patch.  ok I will give it a try.  So I went from 25mcg to 50mcg on the Fentanyl patch.  (Fentanyl is a heavy duty narcotic med that is in a category all by itself) It isn't morphine, or codine or opiates.  Man, I don't even need the Norco and I have no side effects from the patch and I can't even tell I use med except when it is time to change it.  (it itches after a shower though).  I feel so much better.  Goin to play for the weekend, have a nice day.

It's always great news when our meds work so well. I used the patch once when my hip was bad (before replacement) and I remember it was awesome no pain whatsoever. Hope this continues to work for you!

Kristy,

It's so awesome when our drs. are concerned about us and our pain.  My Dr  at my pain clinic also boosted my patch up about 3 weeks ago, that's why I haven't been on the boards lately, I've been pain free so I'm taking advantage of it, GLAD to hear you are too!

Have a good 3 day weekend!
