Hoping to buy new motivation
Hello All,
Well, have ya figured it out yet? hahahah
I am planning to buy a Shih Tzu/Bichon female puppy soon. The one I saw the other day looked just like a teddy bear. I will be motivated to get out and walk the puppy and play with her. I already have a name picked out for her which is "Bailey". I can't wait to get her. It might not be until Sept or Oct but that is okay because I still need to make up her room and buy the necessities. So hope this inspires all of you to adopt a pup. Have a great day.

Good for you! I personally am not a fan of amimals. I love to play with them when I'm at friends' houses but they are way too much responsibility for me at this stage in my life. We all need motivation, it comes in many forms, loving a pet is one of them!
I had a 'pup' for about 15 years for the kids. It was a tea cup Maltese we called Moosy. We had to put him to sleep three days after my surgery. I know the kids still miss the little guy, he was a great companion for them. He use to jump on the trampoline with the kids.
I for one am all for external motivation! Rey (bed buddy) loves to hike, camp, go to festivals & fairs, so I have a kindred spirit and he keeps me motivated. Since my husband travels so much for work, when he gets home, all he wants to do is hang out at the house, drink beer and smoke pot, so unmotivating for me.

Fur buddies are a great motivation. When my fibro was really out of control about a year ago, I wanted a puppy and my husband bought me a wonderful female Great Dane puppy. They are big, but all love. On days I really didn't want to move, I had to decide to either take the puppy for a walk, or clean up the floor. Most of the time I struggled, but forced myself to take the darling out. On days when I didn't want to get out of bed, I had to go at least to the front porch and let her "potty" on a retractable leash. Clara, my darling pup, kept me moving when I didn't even care if I lived and now we have a 2nd Dane pup who brings more and more joy.
I still have rough days but my dogs love to swim with me and we go for walks. When nothing else could get me moving my fur babies did and for that I am so grateful.

Hi Bonnie,
Thank you for the furry motivation. I am looking to get a shih tzu and bichon mix. Which gives them the name teddy bear. I found one well I held one the other day and fell in love with her. So I have been doing research on the two breeds and they are a perfect fit for my lifestyle. They don't require a great deal of exercise and they don't get real big. Perfect match. Thank you for sharing your experience.
