Savella

Anyone tried this new medication, Savella?  I've been taking it for 2 weeks.  I think it is really helping....takes a little while to build up to the full dose.  The best thing is I have had no weight gain.  Actually, I've lost 3 pounds in the past two weeks.  I did experience some nausea feelings the first 10 days on the meds but stuck with it and that seems to have past now.  Most of my pain has subsided except right elbow pain.  Hopefully, that will go soon.  I hate this fibromyalgia!!

That's good to hear! I'm on cymbalta right now but eventually I'll max out on that and have to use something else so glad to hear the Savella is also effective. Thanks for the info!

I have been on Savella for about 2 months now and no side effects. I can tell a difference. I still have the body aches really bad but not to the point that I can't function. My doctors office was one of the clinics that was a trial for the drug and said people were raving about it.

I've been on Savella for about 2.5 months now.  It definitely helps me with the brain fog issue.  I feel like it has given me much of my clarity back!  :o)  My body went through this feeling of coming out of a full body charliehorse for the first week, then aches/sore, and now fairly controlled pain levels.  Thing is, it seems to be helping most with my sleep.  I don't wake up constantly feeling aches and crushing pains.  The only side effect that I seem to have is the hyper(whatever) that makes you sweat a lot/extensively.  If I slow down or stop for a few minutes, I seem to be able to get it under control though.

The pain of my fibro was scary with the crushing feelings, but it was actually the fatigue and brain fog that sent me searching for what was wrong with me.... and that was a 15 year journey.  At least now I have some idea of what is going on and that in itself seems to help me feel a little better.

Best wishes to all of you and I hope you find things that work great for you!!!  Take care of yourselves.  :o)

I have been on Savella for several months now and have found it to relieve all my aches and pains.
I am dealing with the side effects of nausea and this has not subsided. I have not been able to figure out why some days (very few) I do not get the nausea but for most days when taking the medication for approximately an hour to an hour and a half I have the nausea.  Some times it brings me to actual wretching but not too often.
I initially lost a few pounds after taking it but have found at the full dosage now for a couple months that the weight is pouring on quickly.
Is anyone else suffering from these same problems?
I guess I need to figure whether I want the pain or nausea/weight gain.  I will take the pain free for sure.
This disease bites the big one. I had weight lose surgery to regain my life. Fibro tries to take it from me again.........

I noticed weight gain and no pain relief. Mostly, the lack of pain relief and the fatigue is what made me get off of it.

I'm on day eight on savella. I also have diagnosed Tendonitis in my arms that hurt. I've had some nausa and now I get this feeling of fullness that I'm up to 50 mg twice a day on the pack. I'm truly hoping this works so I can dump asking for the darvocet.  I thought loosing a lot of weight would help also but it didn't.  Tramadol quit working like it used to and cymbalta just adds pounds to my body which in the long run hurts so I can't take that. I can't take any nasaid for the tendonitis and that is what is hurting the worst especially at night.  Good greif this fibro is dibilitating and I have been suffering a flare since January of this year with very little let up. I'd like to keep following up with people on this med with RNY to see what happens. Also anyone in tampa bay  fl area please let me know what good doctors you know in the area that don't treat you like a moron or are scared to death to use pain killers.  Keep chatting on the treatments
