My mother has had Celiac Disease for 30 years. Her sister has it also. They both do very well now but years ago there wasn't anything for them to eat and no books about it. My mom makes all her food homemade, breads, cakes and cookies. I can't even tell with is hers. She has come a very long way.

Have you ever been tested for CD?  Since your mom and your aunt both have it, you are at a SIGNIFICANTLY increased risk of having it as well.  Is the niece that you mentioned this same aunt's daughter?  If so, the same risk applies to her as well.

If you do have CD, you will probably find that your FM symptoms are greatly relieved by eliminating gluten from your diet.  I hope you find something out soon!

P.S.  I noticed you have red hair - any chance that you are of Irish descent?  They have one of the highest rates of CD in the world........

Yeah I have been tested. I don't have it. I don't eat gluten anyway. My neice is my brother daghter and she has been tested also and she was negative. We still watch our diets close. I'm 7 weeks out of surgery so I don't have many options anyway. Thanks for the info.

I tested negative for CD but if I eat wheat I have IBS and am even tireder that usual and just ITCH! I have decided that I do not think much of the 'test'.  Christine
