Fibro running in my family
I was just wondering if anyone else has family members with Fibro? I was told I prob have had it for years but I was diagnosed a year and a half ago. My niece (19yrsold) was diagnosed a few months ago. Now as I take a look at my family as a whole (Aunts, Uncles, Cousins) I wonder if some of them have it also. It would explain alot.
I don't know if it has been scientifically proven but I believe it does run in families. I can remember as a kid spending the night at gramma's and every morning I had to take her 2 aspirin before she could get up. Later I remember her constantly saying how tired and sore she was so I think there is a link of some kind anyway
sweety there is no cure! There will never be a cure. We are the lost ones!!
My baby suffers every single time she is stressed or it rains or she is over stressed or hell life itself happens. I HATE it yes.....but am I gonna tell her "baby one day they will find a way to fix it" NOPE cause I have waited 32 years for a cure. My daddy held me for 32 years and told me "one day baby they will be able to fix this, one day baby you will not hurt no more" 32 years later I am still waiting for a curel. I am typing this holding my six year old telling her every single time it thunders that it will be ok to wait for the motrin to work. Every SINGLE ******G TIME IT RAINS AND I LIVE IN A HURRICANE ZONE I have to tell her it will pass just wait it out!!!!!
do not feel pity please........Just push your congress to find a CURE for this disease that IS AFFECTING OUR CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many people with Fibromyalgia test positive for Celiac Disease - both of these conditions can be greatly helped by following a gluten-free diet. If you want more information, type "Celiac Disease" in your search engine - at some point, you will probably be sent to www.celiac.com. If you will click on "Conditions associated with Celiac Disease", there are several articles about the link between these two conditions.
Even if you don't test positive for CD, you may find significant relief from your aches and pains simply by eliminating gluten from your diet. Our daughter was diagnosed with CD last year, and within 24 hours of my starting a GFD, the arthritis in my knee was significantly improved - I was amazed!
You can also search for "gluten-free diet" - it's pretty simple to follow a GFD once you figure it all out! Most of the food that you can eat is available at your local grocery store, and there aren't any fancy drugs, supplements, or anything like that on a GFD. Celiac Disease runs in families, so it's not surprising that folks with fibro find it running in families as well - chances are CD is running around those same family units...........
