Their thought pattern on this is, I don't need an opperation to lose the weight, that's just the easy way out. Sorry, there has been nothing easy about it at all! To top it off, FMS is only in our heads, it's just normal aches & pains of getting older (so they say).
I won't be bunning for long, I just get frustrated with people sometimes, they can be so insensitive and cruel. My husband isn't much help either in these situations, he tends to be negitive like his grumpy old dad.
Well, I hope everyone's day is brighter than mine. I'm glad it's almost Friday, I have a wonderful mini vacation planned. Going to Tahoe for 4 days. My boss has a cabin there and he gave me run of the place! Doing a happy dance about that! Now, if I can only find a way to get the boss up there and not my hubby I would be a very happy camper. Hi, Sorry to hear you are having a bad time at work. Although as if it were any of the coworkers business about WLS. But if you feel the need to defend it, then that is good. I always tell people that I had (pre op) a medical condition that prevented me from losing weight. I had PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome), and there are a ton of symptoms from that, that are a threat to your life. So I just tell them point blank: I had a medical condition that was life threatening so my doctor said my health would greatly improve with the wls. I had the RNY 3.5 yrs ago and doing very well aside from the Fibro. As far as defending the fibro, tell them you aren't going to spar with them regarding this. If you want to say something about it, tell them to look it up online and they can decide then if is is all in our heads. It isn't normal aches and pains anyway. So that just shows their ignorance. It is muscle pain and flu like pain that isn't normal aches and pains. My husband isn't very supportive regarding my fibro either. So I understand you totally. Hope all goes better for you. take care,
Kristy
