Anyone heard of or been presribed this new fibro drug? I guess it's very new. So glad they are still looking for other drugs for us!

I work at a pain management clinic and we were given samples and a presentation on it Savella. It has been used in Europe for years and is now the only FDA approved SNRI for Fibro. I have been taking it for over two weeks and have not noticed any side effects..it takes a month to go into effect. But the side effects do not report Fatigue or weight gain/ water retention, which were big selling points for me!

No, but thanks for the info. I will be seeing my specialist on Monday and ask him about it.

Thanks Laglass, it's sure good to know there are more options for us out there! My cymbalta is working great right now but I know eventually I'll have to use something else since I build up a resistance after awhile. Keep us informed on how it works for you.

I tried the Savella for a month. I didn't notice a big change in pain (but i've been under more stress). However, I had extreme nausea and according to the representative that came to our office, it seems to be a common side effect for women.

Oh well, I start pain management on the 22nd. It seems that Xanex and Pristiq are best for my anxiety and depression and Percocet seems to be the only thing that controls my pain.

ive been on savella for a month. the nausea is ruff.  it helps with the pain but the stomach problems, i dont know how long to have to deal with it. going to the neuro. dr. the 9 maybe she will tell me to keep trying it or get off of it. i have to give up cymbalta and the withdrawl  symptoms is terrible. mood swings and depression. let me know if u have had any of these symptoms with savella

I was weaned off of Pristiq during the low dose intro to Savella. I didn't really have too many withdrawl symptoms. Once I got to the 50mg dose of Savella was when I really noticed the nausea.
It was easy to get off of Savella and start the Pristiq again.

I just started Savella.  Only on day 3.  So really too early to tell if it's going to work for me or not.  I had really thought that Cymbalta was going to be the ticket.  I took it for 4 months and was feeling so crappy, no pain, but debilitating fatigue.  It took me that long to figure out it was the Cymbalta.

Can't take Lyrica either.  Sigh.
