mosquitoes
Hello everyone,
I have not been diagnosed with Fibro, tho I have been researching on my own, and I have about 8 out of 10 symptoms listed. The two that really caught my eye were: upper arm pain and attract mosquitoes.
I don't even really go outside inthe summer anymore because I attract mosquitoes so bad. Its like a family joke (to everyone but me)
Also, if my husband grabs my upper arms, I scream from the pain. He's like, geez, I hardly touched you.... but it felt like he stabbed me and the pain lingers for a few minutes.
Also, tons of back problems, hip problems, i have vertical lines on my thumbnails, i have vertigo sometimes, i get migraines, i get muscle spasms and charlie horses ALL THE TIME, i wake up exhausted....
What do you guys think? Think its time to go to a doctor? I feel like a hypochondriac
any help, suggestions, advice, greatly appreciated...
thanks in advance,
Lauren in New Jersey

I count protein, fluid ounces, and my blessings everyday.
Hi,
I do believe it is time to see your doctor to see if you do have Fibro so he can get you on pain meds or into a pain clinic. From my experience, any doctor or pain doctor can diagnose the fibro. There isn't a blood test or xray to say if you have it. They come up with the results based on what you tell them your symptoms are. I just asked my doctor if it is noted in my file that I have it, because the dr. that diagnosed me retired right after. So my pain management dr said it is noted in my file already by my new dr. Anyway, I only know about arm pain, hip pain, shoulder and neck pain. Pain like when you have the flu and your arms hurt when just barely touched. Classic symptoms of fibro. But I am no doctor. Mosquitoes love me too, but that is just because they like females better than males. It is actually the female that is pregnant out searching for blood. sorry. You are not a hypochondriac at all. This is where the support you need is given.. This forum is great. Check back after you see your doctor and tell him you don't just want to be put on Cymbalta. The combo of different meds really make a difference. Keep us posted. Best wishes to you. As you can tell I am a busy body on here. I like to share my knowledge of Fibro and my experiences with people that understand how I feel and care how I feel.

I hope you have seen a dr by now :) I realize you posted this a few years ago, but I am SO GLAD that I came across it. I am CONSTANTLY under attack by mosquitos. No one else ever got bit but me. I thought something was wrong ! Jeesh While on the phone with my mom today she said she read some where that people with Fibro tend to attract them more than " normal " people. I can't even walk to the mailbox with out getting hit a few times. I do live in the country , but it's beyond ridiculous. I have found some relief by using one of those units they sell at Home Depot. I think it's by Stinger. Works great. It attracts them so DO NOT place it near you . I thought it did the opposite and repelled them. Sat it next to me and said " Come get me now! " and they did. They swarmed around me. Thats when I looked at the box and smacked myself upside the head....lol anyway...best of luck to you and hope your feeling better! Thanks again :)
