I need to ask a question to all my fibro sisters. Today my Dr changed my meds to tramadol and Cymbalta, what are all your thoughts....good and bad.....

There has to be something to make me feel better because I feel like crap. I am so new to this all, I found out 4 months ago I had fibro and my road has been very rough!

Hi Maria,
I am currently using the Fentanyl patch 25 mcg, Cymbalta 60 mg, and Norco as a break through med if I am still having a little pain.  This is a good combination for me.  One a scale from 1-10 my pain level is usually about 3-4.  I used to be 10+ before the meds.  I still am stiff though.  But I feel a lot better.  Best wishes to you.
Kristy
ps. You might need to change your meds a lot before you find what works for you.  But I really like my combo.  The patch is good for RNY patients., as it is absorbed through the skin so none is wasted.

Kristy,

Thanks for being an angel and answering my questions. I'm trying so hard to understand all of this. I was fine, then one morning about a year ago I woke up in so much pain,

I changed Dr's over this, I know the one Dr thought I was crazy.....I had to leave my old Dr because my Ins changed. I was laid off yesterday and paid the money and went to see my old Dr...I so missed him and said it will take time but we will get this right. I will mention the patch the next time I go...once again,.,,,,ty

I'm on cymbalta (30 mg 1x day) and morphine ( 30 mg 2x day) and 5 mg oxycodone for breakthru pain. Thje cymbalta seems to work really well but I build up a tolerance to it and have to up my dose periodically. Not sure what to do when I max out on it tho. Good luck.

Maria,
Hope you are feeling better. I too am going to have to change my med's too. But I am trying to wait until I get moved. I was wanting to try Cymbalta but needed to go off my lexapro first and i didn't want to do all that changing right now. I hate to change med's.
keep us informed how your doing !!!

Hey Maria,
I am on 60mgs of Cymbalta x1 daily and Lyrica 300mgs. x2 daily.
I find that this combo does help somewhat, but I do have flareups that put me in the bed.  I am coming out of a flareup that kept me in bed for most of 3 days :(  I am not hurting quite as bad now.
I have began doing meditation.
I know that sounds stupid, but it really helps alot.
I don't have alot of relief from Tramadol, but I hope you do.
Hang in there hun, I know what you are going through.
Hugs,

PLEASE be careful- Tramadol + Cymbalta can cause serotonin syndrome, without warning!
