Me TOO!! I hurt all the time it seems. BUT I found a new secret that helps the pain a little bit.

My shrink put me on Xanax. Since I started taking them I have been relaxed enough that my fibro does not hurt as much. I think I have taken maybe 3 pills in the past 4 days compared to around 9 that I would have normally taken.....
Do not know why it helps but it is???

Hi!  I'm new to OB and also have fibro.   Sometimes I feel as if I'm the only person in the world with this funky fibro thing.   The weather changes affect me also.  Doesn't seem to matter if it's good to bad or bad to good weather, a change at all has me achy.

That is so true. i am always saying yes when it is changing to NICE I even HURT. How can you win ????
I try to just " put up with it" but it gets unbearable at times. I also know that some of the people that wonder why I am crabby at times could Never put up with the pain I do. But I do not want to just sit in the corner and feel sorry for myself either so I try to be active as I can.

I agree, pain when the weather changes is worse.  I am so tired of hurting and having to work fulltime and be a caregiver after that.  It gets exhausting and I don't get that much done around the house because I am so tired all the time.  It's a vicious cycle.

I was just prescribed, amatriptyline, and I'm hoping it will help.  However, one of the side effects listed is weight gain and I do not want to gain anything so I'm hoping it won't do that to me.  Anybody else tried this drug, and did it help you?  Did you gain weight or have any other terrible side effects?

I absolutely HATE trying new med's. But as we all know we HAVE to. All the med's affect all of us differently.
This Swine flu is sort of scary..
let us know how you do on this med.

Well, the amatriptylin didn't do so well for me.  I couldn't get up from bed the second morning I was so groggy and sore.  I stopped taking it already.  Back to the drawing plan!

Good luck,
