What are you taking and is it working for you?

Okay so I'll go first. I got diagnosed with Fibro "officially" last May. I've have neck pain and headaches for the last 10 years and have been taking pain meds accordingly. I also have anxiety and depression with gastritis. I take

Lyrica 150 mgs 2x's a day
Cymbolta 60 mgs 1 x per day
Provigil 200 mgs 1 x per day

Tramadol HCL 50 mgs as needed
Percocet  5/350

This schedule is okay, I have to start exercising I know which hopefully will help. The bad part is the percocet no matter what strength is pretty much not doing a whole lot because I think I've built up a resistance to it.

So what does everyone else's med schedules look like?

Hi there Hopegirl,
I have had this horrid disease since I was a child of course back then it was called growing pains. I always wanted them to explain to me why the growing pains did not stop when I stopped growing
My med schedule goes something like this.....
Opana extended 20mg
Opana instant 10mg 3x a day if needed
darvocet 650mg as needed swapped back and forth with percocet
then because I am bi-polar I take
celexa 40mg
tryleptal 150mg
remeron 30mg
seroquil 200mg
Means to say when i take my meds I am a little dopey......LOL......
This is the best med regimen that I have been on. I get the most relief off of these and would recommend the pain meds Opana to anyone. It is a synthetic form of morphine and helps SO much. I still have bad pain but it is more controlled now then ever before. So even though the pain is still there I get relief when I remember to take my meds. She gives me 120 opana instants and 60 opana ER and 30 darvs or percs. So I am pretty well covered now. It took me forever to finally get this doc to listen though but I think she gets it now.........
Anyhooooo I got to run out to the doc, my little one has been having eye pain so I got to take her in. She is 5 and also has fibromyalgia. I hate the fact that I have gave it to her but all I can do now is try to show her how to deal with it.
best wishes

BirdyLady,
If you dont mind me asking,  How long have you been seeing this particular Pain doc??
Did you have to get a referral from your PCP to see a Pain doc??
My Vicodin isnt working anymore.

I have been seeing becky now for 2 yrs I think. We started out rough she really did not want to listen to me. So I had brought my husband with me cause allot of times when i have something I am trying to explain my mouth will not say what it is suppose to or I forget so I took him with me.
He explained to her the pain I was in and told them point blank " I am paying you a good damn fee now I want my moneys worth, she is in pain fix it or find me someone who will, your not listening to her do you know anything about your profession" I just sat there and looked at her and her mouth just about hit the floor. I have not had any problems with her listening to me since. She makes sure every month that she asks me "is the meds working? do you need something more than what you have? Do we need to change anything around? Do you want to try something new or different? How is your stomach holding up to it?" I guess the talk she had with him made her open her eyes cause now I could not ask for a better doc. Before that talk she had me on lyrica that was doing NOTHING and 25 percs a month. Talk about PAIN OMG I could not function. Thank GOD she listened to him!!
Vicodin did not do much for mine. I am not sure why though. It is a good med and long time ago I use to take it. I love being on the Opana and have a habit of suggesting it to anyone that will listen. It works so good!! Mix it with a percocet OMG the relief........BUT let me tell you the other night I was hurting SOOOOO BAD. I had some hennesy sitting on my dresser. I had taken my opana and a percocet and was not getting any relief I had tried the hot shower hot bubble bath the heating pad everything so I took a few shots of hennesy......LMAO I said so many things to my hubby that I do not even remember thinking or saying!! I got drunk so fast and passed out. So please NEVER NEVER NEVER drink with your meds cause your hubby will take extreme advantage of you.....LMAO
Let me know if you can talk your doc into the Opana I would love to hear how it works for you.....

Kimberly,

I'm so sorry to hear that you're daughter has Fibro too, but with you as her mom, at least you can give her the best info and let her know that you do know exactly what she is going through.

Thanks for the info hope you little one's eye is better soon

I'm currently taking 30 MG of Cymbalta and oxycodone 5MG for break thru pain. Before that I was using oxys 1 every 2 hrs. and neurontin every 6 hours. It was OK but the new regime is better. It sure would be nice if there was one drug that worked wonders for all of us instead of different programs for each of us. It would make life a whole lot easier for us!

HisLady,

So the Cymbalta works that good for you? I"m happy to hear it. I just really don't feel like its doing anything for me. I was on 100 mgs of Zoloft then my Rhuemy swithed me to Cymbalta
first 30 mgs then she upped it to 90 mgs then I took it down to 60 myself but I honestly can say it doesn't seem to be doing too much for me....

According to my pain doc the sooner it works the worse shape I was in! Not sure if that's good or bad but I'm thankful that it's working. Even if it doesn't last it'll get me some relief for now. My pharmacist told me a long time ago about it and I didn't expect it to do anything but she also said if it doesn't work fairly soon that it's not going to work at all and if it does work it usually works miracles. It's one of those drugs that for some is great and for others does nothing. Sorry it's not as helpful for you and I hope that you'll find the magic combo that will work!

Hi Hopegirl,

I'm the new kid on the block.  I just introduced myself on the post above yours.  Of course, after I post this, my post will be below your post!

Anyway, here's my current schedule:

Wellbutrin 200 mg in the morning, and 100 mg before 2:00 p.m.
Aleve
Celexa 40 mg in the evening
Klonopin .5 mg in the evening
Zanaflex 2 mg in the evening

This combination of meds has helped me more than any other combination, and since I've been on this combination of meds, I have been able to start an exercise program.  I've been going to a non-impact, gentle aerobics class three times per week.  That's pretty good since I haven't been able to exercise in over four years.  My doctor said that it's going to take a while to build up my strength.

Nice meeting you!

Terry

I was diagnosed in December of 08, but my family and I suspect I have been suffering since early adolescence.

I am on 60 mg Cymbalta, 2000 units Vitamin D and 1 Multivitamin.
Currently trying Robaxan and Amitriptyline (10mg).
Appt with Pain management next week. Suffering till then.

I have major sleep disturbances still and pretty much 24/7 pain and anxiety, as well as depression and suicidal thougths.

Also no job and no insurance right now.
This was depressing just to write.
