Well I finally had my appointment with the Rheumatologist for my Fibro. He was very thorough. He took alot of time with me and is very down to earth. Anyway This is what he wants me to do. Stay on the Cymbalta my PCP prescribed 30mg a day

Lyrica 75mg 1 to 2 twice a day. I'm up to 2 (we discussed that I may end up taking 3 or 4 but will deal with that at my follow up visit)

Tramadol 50mg 1 every 6 to 8 hours for Pain (ULTRAM)

Cyclobenzaprine 10 mg 1 Up to 4 X's a day (Flexeril)

For sleep He put me on Trazadone 25 mg 1 up to 4 at bedtime. Those knock me for a loop.

So far so good. I do have less pain. It's a miracle but I also am having strange side effects. I think from the Lyrica. Anyone have involuntary movements while taking it?
Thank you all *****sponded to my original post. I appreciate everyones input. Your all a Godsend. It's a relief to know I'm not alone and others share my symptoms.

Hi!!

Glad you went to see you're rhuemy an he got you on a schedule. I don't have side effect from the Lyrica. I take 2  mgs 2x a day.
Trazadone never did anything for me, but I think my doctor put me on a low dose. I take ambien CR or 2 mg of atavan to help me sleep.

I have a question, how in the world can you take flexeril and not be sleeping for days? If I take that I am no good seriously for at least 24 hrs. They tried to give me it in a CR form, very bad for me I was in a fog for 48 hrs. I know that once in a while when I'm falling asleep I have involentary movements in my arm or leg once in a while.

So glad to hear that you have less pain!!!! That is great!!!

I know what you mean about the Flexeril. I only take it when i won't be driving anywhere because I too get tired. The involuntary movements I mentioned are starting to scare me. It's like even now typing my brain is saying where i want to go but my hands and fingers are fighting me and going in another direction. Freaky , huh? (being a control freak in general I am having some major issues with this;o) Anyway, I'm going to give my doc a call and read the info thoroughly which I should have done in the first place..lol Thanks for the input

I was diagnosed with Fibro about 4 years ago...this is the meds I have been on:   Cymbalta- caused liver enzymes to go through the roof  and Lyrica I had a allergic reaction to it.  Tramadol-  tore my pouch up-can in some people act like NSAIDS.   I currently taking Cyclobezaprine- 10 mg...I usually take about 6 a day and do not get sleepy at all. I take Elavil 100 mg at bedtime to help with sleep.  I do take a med for my back.  I think the Lyrica cause twitches.  Jus****ch for that, sores in the mouth and your tongue swelling.  Good Luck...

I've had fibro for 8 1/2 years. I am now taking plaquanil, tramadol or vicodin (depending on type of pain), and tricyclic antidepressent that is similar to elavil (can't remember the name). I have antivert for dizziness.

I have a new rheumatologist who took me off lyrica which wasn't working and lunesta which wasn't working either. When I was taking cymbalta I had suicidal thoughts all the time. I would consider jumping in front of a moving bus. I would have this thought almost everyday all day long. Never had problems with flexeril which I used to take twice a day.

I've just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

CALL YOUR DOCTOR!  My mom took Lyrica a couple of years ago for about a month.  She started having Parkinsons like tremors then general weakness, altered mental status, a fall and subsequent broken wrist, a 10 day hospital stay and 7 week physical rehab stay.

I am not saying this will happen to you.  My mom's situation is much different.  The Lyrica was for diabetic peripheral neuropathy.  She's older than you.  She has end stage kidney disease (therefore her body doesn't process all drugs the same as a "normal" person).  BUT, I'm not 100% sure if you are supposed to stay on the drug with the involuntary movements.

Good luck!

I have not experienced that with Lyrica, but definitely talk to your doc.
It is a lot of work to get the right "****tail" but it is worth the effort!
Best wishes!
