Extreamly tired after 5 weeks

Hello All!  I had the RNY five weeks ago, and I can't seem to get my energy back!  I didn't have a whole lot before surgery, but it was a TON more than this..lol.  I have had all my blood levels checked, and the only one I am having problems with is Vitamin D, and he put me on 50,000 IU twice a week.  (But he said this alone wouldnt be causing the tiredness.)  I had 5 blood transfusions after surgery, but those blood levels are in the normal range also.

I am right on schedule for eating and water consumption, but my activity level is NOT up to par.  I go for short walks, but it's about all I can manage. I know it sounds like I'm a big whine-bag..lol, but has anyone else had this problem and is so, does it have anything to do with fibro...and when does the tiredness get better? I'm going to post this on the main baord as well,  because maybe it's just the trauma from surgery.  Thanks for listening!

Have you been diagnosed with fibromyalgia?
Havinh your energy drained can be alot of things including your wls or fibro or vitamens or hell just about anything.  If you have fibro there is absolutly nothing that can be done about the extreme loss of energy.Alot of times your firbo will even get worse after WLS, mine surely has!!
I had surgery on july 29th and my energy level is still low. I have lost almost 70 lbs now but I am hurting more then I ever did before. If it is fibro related don't count on it getting any better. If it is WLS related give it a couple months time.........
hope this helps some

I was diagnosed when I was 17, and until now I have had it under control, or at least I thought..lol.  Oh wow, I really hope this is just from having surgery..lol.

Five weeks isn't really that long even if it was done laproscopically. Any surgery is very traumatic for your body to deal with and it sometimes takes a few months to really feel back in shape again. Throw in the fibro and it could easily takes several months for you to feel "right" again. I would just give it some more time and take it kinda easy. Eat right and do whatever exercise you can, even several short walks a day are great. Let your body take the time it needs to heal completely. If it is still off in a few more months continue to see your doc.

I think I am expecting too much at this point if you want to know the truth..lol.  I'm glad I went to the doctor to see what's up, and since I posted I feel quite a bit better knowing that this is probably just normal. (More for others of corse).  I had talked to SO many people about life afer surgery and watched all the big medicines etc....well, I need to keep telling myself that everyone is different!  The "moms"  (Mom and mother-in-law) keep telling me the same thing you just did...and I know your all right (the moms usually are...lol) Its just very hard right now. And I decided I'm going to up my exercise even if I have to do it in several small intervals....something is better than nothing!  Thank you for your reply by the way....I hope you have a wonderful day!
