I started taking fentanyl patches last night and WOW do they work. I have not had this much relief in a long time!!
They finally stopped my lyrica since it was not doing anything at all to help.......
Just thought I would share

Glad to hear it!  I also am taking Fentanyl the 25 works good for me for about 6 weeks... then it didn't.  I am on the 50 dosage but the generic brand made by MYLAN is horrible... so I have a hew RX so I can get the generic 50mcg in the same brand (WATSON) as the 25 I was taking.

Who do you see in GA for your Fibromyalgia?  I am looking for a doctor who 'believes' it is REAL!

I just started taking the fentanyl yesterday 25mg and it works ok so far. I have had to take some oxycodone and darvocet today too though but the weather here is bad so that does not help.
She will probably up my dose next week.
I see Dr amy pearson, she is really good too and listens really well compared to the others I have seen. My shrink is involved in all of it too and they cordinate with each other often. I have bi-polar too. I felt there for awhile there was no hope! but I think things are turning around for the good.......I will not hold my breath though.....LOL....
Are you near Hinesville? Dr pearson is worth the drive if your close enough.....

I'm so glad you are getting relief from the patches I used them for awhile before my hip replacement several years ago and they were great. Right now I'm able to get good relief from 5mg oxycodone 4x a day. Just a bit of a warning do be sure to use as directed because in this part of the country people have been abusing them and have actually died from overdoses. Also they are highly prized on the streets with addicts so you might want to invest in some type of lock box to keep them in. My doc makes me sign an agreement to keep my oxys locked up even tho it's just hubby and I. I'm so glad tho that docs are finally realizing we aren't crazy! That alone is a big step!

I read about the overdosing, scary huh. I weighed the pro's and con's and figured if it would give me some relief I would risk it! I am SOOOOO very tired of hurting!
I am pretty scared of most of my meds so I tend to use them sparingly. We are talking with the doc about a pump that hooks in your spine or maybe even one of the electro something another ones that is sorta like a TENS unit in your spine. Have any of you tried a TENS unit. I tried one in office and they are getting me one sometime this week. It felt pretty good but I am not sure on long term relief.......

Good I'm glad you are aware of the hazards. It amazes me sometimes how uneducated a few people are about the meds they take so I just wanted to make sure everone was aware that while a great pain reliever fentenyl is pretty strong stuff. I'm all for pain relief!!!  Best wishes!
