Hello....I see this forum isn't that buzy, but I hope some of you "vets" will be able to help....I have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis a few years ago.  It seems to be getting worse.  I think I have Fibro, but never asked a doc to diagnose me cause I figured I just have to live with the pain.  Ok, so Iam DONE living with the pain, its a roomate I don't want anymore! lol...Anyhoo, yes, I do have the trigger point tenderness/pain, and other symptoms of Fibro.  I need to know how to start the process of getting treatment for the pain.  Do I ask my PCP for a referral to the Arthritis doc?  Should the PCP treat me? Iam new with Kaiser, are they helpful with Fibro?
The majority of my pain is during flare ups.  Everyday pain varies alot.  I have mostly mild to moderate days....I do have alot of tiredness tho, and some brain fog...
Thanks ahead of time

Rheumatologists are usually the ones who diagnos and treat fibro so that would be who you want to see. Now that I'm diagnosed my PCP pretty much handles my pain management and medication. Good luck, hope someone will give you some relief.

The important thing is to find a doc empathic to fibro.  Lost of peole have  bad experiences with doc who consider them whiners.  My PCP is great.  Don\t be afraid to Dr. shop until you find one you feel comfortable with.
