Well, its official, I AM NOT CRAZY, NOR am I a hypochondriac, contrary to 8 years of docs telling me that. I finally found a doctor that LISTENED to me, for 2 straight hours, crying and *****ing to him about my pain and other doctors thinking I am nuts, when they were the ones at fault. After all of  that, he looked at me and said, do you feel like your crazy or a hypochondriac? I said yes, and started bawling again. He diagnosed me tentatively with fibro (after lab work confirmed it) along with Raynauds, and degenerative arthritis in my hips and knees  (from years of obesity). Now since I have lost 183 pounds from RNY (almost 4 years out) he told me he would write the necessary letter to get my excess removed to help with my arthritis, and monitor my recovery pain with the plastic surgeon. I am HAPPY to say that I am now going o 6 months with this AMAZING doc and NO PAIN! He put me of Effexor and Flexaril...I am human agin....

Oh yea that was the happiest day of my life when I got an actual diagnosis from a rheumatologist! I haven't been crazy for 20+ years! Now you can actually treat the disease not try to convince a doc that you are sane. Good luck!

I am with you on feeling crazy and being treated like a hypochondriac. I know I had this crap for years. I also have the advanced OA from being overweight. I had bad disks that went undiagnosed as well. Best wishes on getting better!

P.S. Please let me know how your insurance accepts the letter for plastics. I have an exclusion and wonder how I can get it appealed and approved.
thanks
