I was on Cymbalta for about 5 months, sadly I gained 25 pounds while taking it.  A big blow there.  If there is the slightest chance for weight gain I will gain it.  I have been on neurotin for a bit but want to get off that.  Not a big differance and when they tried to raise the dose I developed a tick!  Crazy I swear.  I hope you have good luck with the cymbalta.  I am going to talk to my dr today about a new coourse of action.

I tried the cymbalta but noticed no difference in the pain factor.  I am now on Lyrica which works awesome (150mg 2x a day) but I have started to gain weight which is a side effect.  My doc and I agreed to monitor this over the next month to see how it goes, if it continues to climb she said we would stop the Lyrica, she completely understands how I'm not willing to gain weight for this medicine.  She also but me on Wellbutrin for several reasons, it has a energizing affect which is awesome cuz I'm fatigued all the time, and it helps with pain perception as well.  I also use Lidoderm patches when needed which bring a teensy tiney bit of relief. I go to the YMCA and take their joints in motion class in their heated pool which is awesome and I am noticing a slight difference on "good" days.  But, my main source of pain relief comes from this: 1 Ultracet every 6 hours 1-2 Vicodin every 6 hours 1/2 tab to 1 tab Percocet every 6 hours for above and beyond pain (so this is added on a really bad day) I also soak in lots of hot baths, go to the chiropractor and try to get plenty of sleep if I can get comfortable enough to actually sleep! God Bless! Hugs-n-love, Jill

Kind of an old post here but I thought I'd add my 2 cents to it.  I was taking Effexor for depression for years.  Then, I was diagnosed with Fibro and my doctor switched me to cymbalta in 2006.  I noticed that after I switched to the cymbalta, my legs and feet stopped hurting almost immediately.  Unfortunately, I can't take the Cymbalta for other reasons now but I sure miss it!
