I pray that you win your appeal!!  Fibro is a horrible thing!!!  I have had it for a little over a year and just recently diagnosed with it.   I also wanted to tell you that you have a beautiful family!!  You and her husband look so sweet together!  Your girls are just dolls - my mom had 4 girls... I am the baby!!   Hugs and best wishes, Emily

I will pray for you! On mine the disability dr that reviewed him pointed out that all my claims were supported by medfical documentation. The main diag was fibro and 2nd was degen disk disease. Pray this all works out for you. Im so glad I did not have to go that far in the process. Shannon

Don't give up hope! After my 1st denial and 2 more appels after that [and 3 looong yrs. later] I was finally awarded SSD. But, my case differs from yours due to the fact that I also suffer with other med. conditions as well. I do think FMS strengthened my case tho, because it is now recognized as a disability by SS from what I have learned during this stressful ordeal. I did use a very reputable SSD attorney in my local area for my appeals after my initial denial. And......just when I was about to give up and accepted a very meanial part time job [vs. working full time as I had for yrs. prior to illnesses] that was well beneath my skill level and experience. I received my notice of hearing date letter. I was still very skeptical about my chances at winning. But I did, so hang in there I know it's a rough journey but it just might work out in your favor. Good Luck!

well I am waiting the wonderful 30 days for a answer from the judge, I not only have fibro but a bad knee that surgery is not an option to fix, carpal tunnel, ulna nerve issues, ADHD, anxity, and asthma /allergies.  When they were talking about all the crap wrong with me I was like umm they can not be talking about me LOL

I was diagnosed in 1993 although I had symptoms for about 15 years before that.  I came off work on Short term Disability in May 2001.  I am an RN.  After 5 months on STD I had to apply for LTD (long term disability).   I also had to apply for SSD at the same time.  I was refused the long term disability becasue it was a pre-existing illness.  i was approved for Social Security Disability the first time I applied.  I had many years of documented doc visits, s/s, Seeing a psychiatrist for depression, see orthopedic docs, chiropractors, pain management...etc.  the only thing the SS office had me do was to have memory testing.  the fibro had messed up my cogniive ability so much.  I was working on my Master's Degree to be a Nurse Practitioner.  I got to the point where I could not even read the paper and remember what i was reading.   Any way long stroy short was I got approved the first time I applied.  Make sure when you go to the doctor that they document what you cannot do in addition to all your symptoms.  For instance I cannot walk for more than 25 feet.  i cannot stand more than 10 minutes.  This is what the SSD will look at.  Good luck to you all.  This is an illness I would not wish on my worst enemy.

I had surgery 1/29/08.  So far I have lost 92 pounds.  I havent been this low in about 26 years.  Although it does help my joint pain, degenerative disc disease, my diabetes is gone, and I can move better....it has not helped my fibro pain or my fatigue.

So the best way to start to get disability is you have to come off work or only work minimal hours.  Use your Short term disability.  that is why you pay for things like this.  You have to be off work several months (5 I think) before you can apply for Social Security Disability.  The more co morbidities you have the more serious they look at your case I think.
