Hello Boardies   I have fibromyalgia and neurapathy and its so nice to find others that have fibro (not that I am happy you ahve it) but that I can talk to someone who knows what it feels like.  Long story short the doc tried so many different things and nothing helps. Insurance denied lyrica three times. UGH. Even pain medication didnt touch it. The rheumo doc just said stretch and soak in warm tub three times a day, who lives like that? I cant stay in the tub!  I finally took matters into my own hands, got mad, flushed the meds and started treating myself. I feel a lot better but still hurt some. I have dropped 59 lbs in two months which has helped other issues HA but my neck and shoulders and arms still hurt a lot.  My question is, if pain medicine isnt working what will?

Welcome! Glad you found the board! Pain meds help knock off the edge for me. I have used roll on ActiveOn from Walmart and have heard of some new pain patches that are over the counter, come from dot size to bigger sized and can be cut. Cant remember the name but think its in an older post. Best wishes on some more pain relief! Shannon

Lidoderm helps me (Lidocaine patches)--these are prescription only.

OTC, Fibroplex by Metagenics nutritional supplements really helped for a while.

A few years ago, I found Fibromyalgia Lotion by Symathicals-a little pricey, but a little goes a long way. This has helped me a lot.

I have recently hears about low dose naltrexone and am trying to find a doc to prescribe it. For more info., go to:

Scroll down and enter fibromyalgia in the search field.
