Please be careful if you get injections into your spine.  I ended up with menningitis.  It was no fun.  It took 3 visits to dr. & ER before I was diagnosed with it and the ER wanted to send me home! I was originally diagnosed with RA at age 14 which turned out to be wrong.  I was diagnosed with fibro more than 15 years ago. I also have spinal stenosis in lower spine and accelerated degenerative disk.  I have had back pain since age 14. (((Hugs))), Kathy

OHMYGOSH!! I can not believe I have found people with the same problem!! I have been miserable with my tailbone for almost 2 yrs. I used to have people turn there heads when I needed to get up, so they couldn't see my face and how much pain I was in. I had to quit my job as a dental hygienist, because we sit for good periods of time then have to get up and down quickly.  My regular doc told me it was out of alignment and gave me exercises to do, but they caused sharp pains down my legs. So, I went to a chiropractor and that helped but it is still awful.  I seen your post was from awhile back, and I was wondering what has come of it? Any relief? Anything working?

Hi I'm new to this forum but this post caught my eye because  I was deiagnosed with Fibro, about six years ago fianally but I think I have actually had it about 12 years. I have had the tailbone pain too. on occasion, out of the blue and it is horrible. Nothing seems to work for me. I usually have to wait it out to leave like it came. My doc has me on a low dose of Lexapro at night to help me sleep better. I am glad to know I am not the only one with this pain.

NO NO NO you are NOT alone!  there are many of us that have this horrid pain.  If you read some of my latest blogs you will see the measures I have taken and what I have been doing about the pain...needless to say wt  ALL the invasive and aggresive measures I am taking they are NOT helping!

Good luck!

Robyn,

Your doctor has you take 30 mg of flexeril at night before bed ? I take 10 mg at 1 time and I am weak and confused. Is 30 mg a real high dose ? My fibro doctor is going to inject me with marcain. The pain is not in the ****yx area. The spasms are mid lower back. It hurts to sit, stand and lay down. I hope I don't get the ****yx pain as my weight goes down. How does 30 mg of flexeril make you feel ? I know everyone is different but I think 30 mg will flatten me right out........any comments

Thanks,
Dawn

Hi Dawn...Great hearing from you!

I STOPPED TAKING THE 30MG OF FLEXERIL ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO.  I COULD NO LONGER STAND THE CONFUSED FEELING!   iT DIDNT KNOCK ME OUT BUT I WAS SOOOO FORGETFUL IT WAS ******G ME OFF AND FRUSTRATING ME!

I have had the marcaine from my rhumetologist but was again only temp fix for me.  The shots I am gettting now are deep shots via spinal.  I have to be put out for them its an all day affair.  as I said this will be injection 2..if I dont get longer than a week relief I will have to move to a more aggresive option.

Please keep in touch and let me know how you respond to the marcaine!  I hope you have very good results.  my personal email is:  [email protected] feel free to use it anytime.  I am not here as often as I used to be or would like to be....

Good luck
Robyn
