Has anyone found that Lyrica slows their weight loss?  It does cause weight gain.

I have only been taking it for 2 weeks.  It hasn't increased my appetite so if I don't lose it won't be because I am eating any more than before.

I've been using it since November and I've gained 25 pounds....  I went from wearing a 10 to a 14-16... this has honestly been hell for me....  I am so afraid that this will be my failure... I had maintained for 3.5 years until I started this med, but if I wasn't on this med I honestly don't know where I'd be...feeling physically... I'm trying to weight the good and the bad.....

Thanks for this post.  I just got an Rx for Lyrica.  i ahd no clue it would cause weight gain.  Since I am sooo early out I can't say I want to take chances with weight gain.  But if it is as good as I have heard then maybe I too need to let the good outweigh the bad.

Thanks Again

i started taking lyrica several months ago.  i take 200 mg at bedtime and have seen remarkable results with it.  better sleep, less pain during the day.  i've also gone thru two surgeries since last july.  rotator cuff repair and ankle fuse.  i bring these up because they are probably partial reasons why my weight loss stopped.  i lost almost 200 lbs but have had some medical issues since then that were not wls related but precluded movement, as in exercise. i also weighed the good against the bad.  the pain of fibro seems to me to be worse than the knowledge that i may never see my goal weight.  although i haven't gained more than a pound or two, my plan was to lose another 70 lbs or so.  if that doesn't happen i can live with it.  but i would have a really tough time living with the pervasive fibro pain.  it is what it is.  and i'm trying to learn to accept that. i don't know if this perspective helps or not.  just thought i'd share. gentle hugs to all

Hello, I take 200 mmg 3 times a day, it really help with the pain and nausea that I had the first two months after surgery.  But I think it is holding up my weight loss.  I have only loss 50 lbs in almost 4 months.  Maybe I should try more excerise but it is hard with the fibro.

Hi, I'm taking 75mg 3X a day. I've been on it for about 2 years. I have gained about 30#, but my eating habits are out of control. Always have been. I know I've given in to them more when I'm having a pity party due to my FMS symtoms. I'm having the DS, hopefully soon.  I posted on the DS forum and several people replied.  Two actually felt better after surgery! That's what praying for! Take care and let's stay in touch. Susan

Just wanted to add my experience to the rest.  I take 75 mg 2x day.  The first month or so was tough due to side effects.  After that, I am doing much better. Weight gain is not a real issue though edema is.  I have doubled up my diuretic and that really helps. I can't imagine losing Lyrica - the good definitely has outweighed the bad in my book. I am responding to your post because you have had the band.  Do you notice any hunger while taking this even though you say weight gain has not happened?    I take 75mg/3xday.   I am feeling relief but think I need to up it a bit.  I have been quite hungry but have not been on a scale in a week or two so I don't know if I have gained anything.  I only have been on this now for a week or so.   I was tired at first but now I don't notice any side effects other than slight dizzyness occasionally.   Your weight loss is similar to mine.  233/153/145.  I am so happy to have lost this weight.  I feel good about myself for once but I just am tired of the pain.  I can't wait for it to warm up so I can swim and get good exercise.
