I'm not taking Lyrica anymore
I read it causes weight gain and I took it just two times and I gained 8 pounds!
Overnight I gained 8 pounds.
I am done, I don't care if I am in pain the rest of my life, I am not gaining again.
It makes my stomach hurt and I feel funny.
I am done with Lyrica.
The fibromyalgia is kicking my butt but I've lived with it this long.
I am depressed because of the pain, but I'd rather live in constant pain than gain back the weight.

Hi Donna,
Although I have never taken many pain meds for my Fibro, I know they have nasty side effects. I don't blame you for not wanting to go backwards. I know when you are taking meds that make you gain weight, you can do everything right and still the weight will not go away.
Take Care, phyllis

hi donna:
i'm so sorry you had such an adverse reaction to the lyrica. and i know what you mean about the weight gain and not wanting it. guess i'm just not that strong, cause i figure that i cannot tolerate that kind of pain, and if it makes me gain weight - i started on it about two months ago - i'd rather have the weight and die early than live the rest of my life in pain. i know that sounds like i'm giving up on my weight loss, but i'm really not. guess we all have to make our choices and do our own journeys. good luck with your's
hugs
DORTHE

Hey Dorthe,
I know what you mean, I broke down and took the lyrica.
I did see that I dropped 5 of the pounds overnight..weird.
I am also on my period I am sure that has somthing to do with it.
The fibro pain is soooooo intense somtimes :( I have to say that they both run a close race..the weight gain and the pain. they are both so difficult to deal with.

Hi Dorthe,
I am so with you on this. If I can live w/o the pain and am able to do things for myself, like get out of a chair, off the toilet or out of the tub, then I'll take the pills and deal the best I can with the weight any weight gain. Since last September, I have been the a complete hysterectomy, ovarian cancer and chemo. All of that along with fibro was pure HELL. Bring on the lyrica. I feel like a new person since I started it and will only come off if my doctor refuses to give it to me. Good luck to you.

Thats too bad, I m sorry that that happened to you. I have been on Lyrica for about 3 months now, with no side effects what so ever. I am LUCKY I guess. i have actaully lost another 5lbs since starting this process (the Lyrica process). So, I guess what i am saying is that I wouldnt want to say that it is all THAT bad, because it has been working for ME. So, anyone who maybe is going to try it, I say, please just try it first before you blow it off. Thats all. And to Donna, again, I am sorry that this has happened to you, I hope you can find something that can help you in your pain.
