Cymbalta Question

Wow, didn't know they had this forum! Anyways, I was diagnosed with Fibro about 10 months ago. My doctor treated me with hydrocodone and an anti-depressant. Since then my doctor moved and I had to find a new one, and I don't think she really took me seriously. After I had RNY she told me she wanted to try me on Cymbalta only, (cut out the pain pill and Paxil) Since then I haven 't really been feeling any better (body wise) and I am a total emotional robot. My sex drive is non-existant, I am not affectionate with my family, and I am always angry. (the last one isn't really a new symptom) Have any of you all experienced this??? What kinds of meds do they give you????

Welcome, Finding the right combo of meds is a pain for me too. I had Cymbalta at one time but dr said i was still depressed and took it. I miss it but cant make him give it back. I also am on hydrocodone and a pain patch as well. I have depression, fibro and a ruptured disk. I sympathize with the frustration of what to take. I had asked about Lyrica but read the side effect could be rapid weight gain. I see others on here that are takin it. I may ask again. Pain meds still dont knock out the fibro pain. Maybe that would help me. I feel like a guinea pig pin cushion. You are not alone!  Shannon

I love Lyrica - so much improvement in my life and no weight gain so far.  I did take Cymbalta for awhile but it didn't seem to help the depression/pain much.  The only positive I got from Cymbalta was that I was not a PMS witch each month. Good luck.

I am 3 days post-op band and want to know if I can swallow my Cymbalta?

I have been on Cymbalta for 6 months.  I ran out of money so I didn t get my refill and man the emotions are catching up to me LOL  I dont want to be on them anymore due to weight gain!
