I just wanted to say "hi"!!!!!!!   I suffer from FMS too!!  I get painful flare-ups for weeks at a time, then I'm fine.   I'm hoping and praying that losing the weight will help!!  It's hard to exercise because of the pain AFTERWARDS!!!!!!!   Hugs to all (soft hugs, in case your skin hurts too!!)

Welcome! I am not counting on weight loss to help because my water aerobics instructor was very thin and had fibro. But the eating properly and getting all the vitamins and minerals should help!

Hate to be a wet blanket, but I had WLS 3+ years ago and my FMS hasn't improved at all.  Each person is different, so I hope some of you do improve.

Hi! Thanks for posting this link. I hadn't found this section of the forums. Yes, I have "Fibro", plus arthritis, diabetes, tremors, PLUS being overweight. Fun, huh? I tend to be the worst on rainy, damp or humid days. And when it's bad, it's bad. I live in the South and we've had a terrible drought which I enjoyed ONLY because my symptoms were lessened some. But for three days now we've had plenty of rain, so I'm in quite a bit of pain. I try to keep moving and go to a Water Aquatics Class three times a week. My LIFESAVER! I make myself go even when I don't feel like it. It's a Fibromyalgia class and the women are fantastic! Also, I take quite a few herbs and vitamins. They help, too. And when I eat less red meat, I seem to do better.  I keep fighting the fight... Like you, I hope the WLS will help reduce some of the strain on my joints. Let's hope and pray, anyway!!
