Hi, My sister had WLS in May of '04 and is now experiencing hair loss. I have heard it is probably due to lack of protein. She is not drinking or taking a proteing supplement besides her vitamins. Can you please suggest a tolerable protein for her? I hear they are pretty nasty but I've also heard of some that are 30-40 grams for the size of a shot glass. Thanks for your suggestions. Vicky

The protein drink I use is a little more than a shot glass-about three drinks-and it isn't the tastiest thing i put in my mouth, but it does have a lot of positives. It is not thick like the shakes/powders, 25g of protein, comes premixed in an almost indestructible container and since it is so small I know I can deal with it better than the 8-15 ounce shakes that are out there. Its called profect, by protica. The website for ordering is protica.com (WWW first). Becky R

I just love the one I found called Muscle Milk and you can buy it at The vitamin store. If she doesnt like it you can always get you money back. It had about 5 different flavors and it doesnt tast like protein at all. I've tasted 3 of their flavors and found that i like the Banana and strawberry the most. A friend of mine just had her surgery and I gave her a taste of mine and she loves it. It has 32 grams of protein and you can either mix it with water or milk,. I use water because I still cant tolerate milk. Rosie
