hi phyllis,
i saw that show today.omg. that was the most interesting shows on weight loss yet. as i was watching that i felt so sorry for you, the video diary really got to me.good luck to you my surgery is the 22nd of jan so i was very interested in your story. how did you get on oprah?
Hi Trish, glad to "meet" you!
I have been keeping VERY busy reading every post I can find on every forum I can find, and putting together lists (can you say obsessive compulsive?) BUT in a sense it has been helpful. I made up a list of "stuff" I want to get or do in preparation, and am slowly but surely doing things . . . like getting new bed slats for my bed so I can get in and out of bed without help when I get home, and ordering samples of protein powders and such, and ordering vitamins, and getting some slip on shoes (my surgery will be open) so I don't have to bend down to put shoes on . . . I figure being obsessive may end up being helpful in the long run! At least it gives me something to do while I WAIT . . . .
I have not had any thoughts of backing out, but I've spent a LONG time researching, and watching friends who have had each of the various types of surgery, and asking questions. So I feel pretty confident about my decision. I may feel differently in July

Another CRAZY teacher her, using the Summer break to have the surgury and get comfortable with the routine, without the kids around!
My surgeons were taking the two weeks following my school being let out to not have surguries, so I actually had to pu**** up to the last day of School.
I will miss out on my kids graduation :'(
But I am really looking for to recovering as much as possible before starting again this fall!

Thanks for responding. I am glad everything went great for you. Congratulations to you and your mom. I know I will have to change my life forever. My husband had VGB April 21. He has already lost about 17 pounds. He is sore, but he exercise daily. He says that this eliminates some of the soreness. I couldn't believe he has had restraint, but he is doing great. I was just wondering if there is someone that has had a transplant that had WLS particularly VGB.
I would love to hear from you mother.
Thank you again for responding.
