Hi everyone - my Mom and Dad will be supportive of my decision to have WLS, but won't agree with it. I haven't told them yet, and want to ask for anyone's suggestions on how to tell them about my decision. I'm not going to tell them until I have a surgery date. Just to give you some background - Mom & Dad didn't even want my sister to have Laser Eye Surgery! I think surgery, in itself, scares them a bit.

my suggestion is to give them as much information as possible about the health risks of not having surgery. give them all of your research on having wls and possibly have them meet your surgeon to discuss risks and outcomes. maybe he will be in a better position to calm any fears that they may have. god bless

Great advice - thanks so much for taking the time to answer my post!! I'm even thinking of giving them my copy of "Weight Loss Surgery - Finding the Thin Person Within You" by Barbara Thompson. It helped me - so I thought I'd help them. Thanks again!!!
