Might seem like a dumb question...  but I'm seriously trying to figure out a way I can have this procedure without my BF knowing about it.   My relationship has been sooo crapy since I told him I wanted WLS.  It's the subject of daily aurgements now.  Really - everything is about WSL.

All the best for your continued suceess...

no.. but then I was/am not married or dating someone of *importance* at the time of my surgery.

just FYI tho...   if you go into the surgery in a rocky relationship...  I can almost guarentee you that you will not be in the relationship after the surgery.  The divorce rate is very high for WLS people.

just FYI..  best wishes.

I keep reading about this.  Well - honestly - I don't want to wait for the WLS.  I have to do this correcty.  We have kids... we still have to be parents first.

What a crappy situation to be in...

Thanks for your thoughts...

Best for continued success..,

YOU will be an awesome parent when you are more healthy.  It's definitely a personal choice you will have to decide.  What is best for YOU.  All other things will fall into place as they should.  It may not be as you foresee them now.. but I believe it will be as it *should*.  None of us can predict what tomorrow will bring.

..but I do wish that it brings you much happiness..

I fear this is true in my case.  My wife is the one who had the surgery, and she wants out now.  For the whole sorry story, see this thread:

Hi
I always fill so sad  when someone is not support of a love one that need this surgery you must do want best for you. If you are having the lap-band its one day surgery and you can return to work in two-three days, but DO NOT drive yourself.

I told one of my sisters I'm having WLS,but I didn't tell her when which is next month I'm having the lap-band in the morning and returning home that afternoon. I may have a hernia (I will find out next week)and if that true then I will tell them I'm having my hernia repaired  because I may need to stay in the hospital longer thank goodness the lap-band can be done at the sometime as a hernia repair.

I suggest you post this on another forum you will get more response

Good Luck
