What I am really Thankful for.....
..another year with my kids. I am quickly approaching my 35th, the age which my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was gone 2 short years later. I didn't want to, but I am starting to freak a little. And on top of all that, I see a lot of horrors most people couldn't even begin to dream up. It makes me realize not only my own mortality, but that of my kids as well.
SO at my house, we are having a killer Thanksgiving dinner and we are going all out!! Each of the kids are going to help me with "their" favorite di****hink I am going to go buy the Christmas classics DVD so we can watch the old school stuff all day. Probably add "Polar Express" into the mix (GREAT Christmas movie for those of you who haven't got to see it) and "The Grinch" with Jim Carey.
Anyone else care to share?

I love the holidays but this year is going to be tough with Nasir in Iraq.. I am thankful that things there have slowed down and he's not going out on missions ...well at the moment anyway.. I'm trying not to think that next year Amir will be there or in Afganistan depending on the agreement signed or not signed with Iraq.
I'm trying to keep my spirits high for all around me but I would prefer the holidays just go away until I have all kids on American soil..
My husband is making me get lights for the new house so I will be going out today to get that done so we can hang lights... maybe that will help my holiday spirit..
One thing I know we use to do when I was a kid was go around the table telling what we were thankful for.. I did that with the boys and I cried everytime.. who knew they were more thankful for their video games than me :) haha
I hope everyone has an awesome holiday...
