It's Time

So here it is 11:25 pm.  In a short 9-1/2 hours from now, I will be on the table undergoing the surgical start to a new life.  My new life.  Gone are the days of "getting my moneys worth" at my favorite Chinese buffet, all you can eat deals and meals that are large enough to feed 3 people.  Gone are the days of fooling myself of believing that I can eat all I want today because I'm starting that diet tomorrow, I'll get on that treadmill tomorrow, I'll use my Bowflex tomorrow.  Tomorrow.

Tomorrow has now become today!  There are a lot of things that will be gone, but you know what, I really have to say good riddance.  Living to eat has made me fat, slow, tired and miserable. That hot, juicy steak with the potato (loaded of course), salad drowning in dressing and loaves of fresh baked bread with lots of butter always tasted so good while being eaten, but was very soon forgotten.  I couldn't wait for the next one because I couldn't still taste the last one.  But I can say with all honesty that it never forgot about me.  In fact, each course decided to hang around and wait for it's buddies to show up and join the party and what a large party it has become.  When you eat and it gets harder to breath and you can feel your heart pounding trying its best to deal with all the fat it now has to push through your veins, its time - actually past time - to start eating to live.

I've done a lot in my life but I am in no way close to being done.  I want to do so much more but I find it hard to even think about it when I can't bend over to tie my shoes.  So I say, bring this on. I'm ready.
