never ending battle
hey all well i just got the word that the cleveland clinic is does not accept the medicaid that i have. so i would have to wait till next year to change to another medicaid plan that the cleveland clinic accepts. what gets to me is that i asked the finacial person if they accpet it and she said yes we do. now she is denying it and there is nothing that i can do except wait. i spoke with the director of her department and he says to file a grivence but then again it will be my word against her's.
it seems as when i reach the top i just end up getting kicked back down i am really pissed about this because i did everything they told me to do. only to find out that they do not accept my type of medicaid.
Awww Steve I'm so sorry! maybe what they are hoping you will do is just forget about it...file a grivence what do u have to lose? Tell them you did everything you were told, tell them you don't have a year to wait because someone made a mistake...this is your health you are talking about. Sometimes the only way we get what we want or need is to fight for it.
Take Care
Steve have you ever read my profile back in the beginning?
I had surgery,
I have Medicaid,
I fought to get it done.
No part of the journey was easy, none.
I got ugly, with Medicaid, wrote my state Senators, Representatives anyone that I could find an address for. I told all, the lack of health care, the lack of my needs being met, anything and everything I could think of went into those letters.
See I'm on SSI and that's where I argued with them, that they put me on this insurance so I could get the appropriate health care...THEN I wasn't getting it! MY HEALTH actually got WORSE because of my ever climbing weight.
I got approval through my PCP, BEFORE I had a surgeon, I had consults with a few, went to many seminars. I went to Dr C, 200 miles away to get my WLS. But I don't think his group is taking Medicaid any longer :-'(
Steve if you want something bad enough, FIGHT FOR IT! You have to get very pro-active especially when you in "the system".
and :cough: bs, June is open enrollment month, change your plan NOW! Even if you did already, you have a couple weeks to change the change.
hugs, Vickie
very good advice Moma.....wonder if Steve could use you as a mentor for paperwork....maybe that would help.......
also, as a side note....my open enrollment is october....but are you referring to open enrollment for medicaid.....i just did not know if people have different enrollment dates or the such.....
Butttt, I could really see you helping motivate and coach Steve....you are so good at inspiring people.....you really are.....
Thanks Annie and if you say so! And this is why I am reading a book entitled, "The Ignored"? by suggestion, because I was feeling ignored in some area's of my life, while it's a fictional book, it's like someone's been writing about my life.. eerie.
I just know they sent me a letter telling me June was open enrollment, I don't know if they do it by month or county to county.
I however cannot pick one, because they have put me on spend down, I pay to work, no incentive to work! YET! The system has taken me down, but I'm fighting it again, This is why I got involved with the ticket-to-work program, everything I am doing for the betterment of me and mine has been vanquished.
Steve I wasn't giving ya chit man, just stating my facts, if you have questions or need some mentoring I will be glad to help you.
Steve....I am so sorry...you have to feel pretty frustrated.....I agree with Barbie Doll and Moma to FIGHT IT....we are here to support you and help you every step of the way.....you have nothing to lose to fight it.....also, are you stuck with going to that place for your surgery? Are there other options at all? WE ARE HERE FOR YOU MAN!!!!
