morning sweet Annie I love this one.. my dad and I love each other but we do not share it in actions or words. Just this past year for my birthday we were at Red Lobster leaving. My mom and sister were in the bathroom.. so my aunt/uncle, niece, brother inlaw, sister, dad and I were outside. I went up to my aunt and hug/kissed her.. and gave my uncle a hug.. and niece hug/kiss.. and was telling Dad bye and thank YOU for buying my supper. I wanted to hug him, but felt weird. Finally I said .. Oh give me a hug.. and we did. I do not know why that is difficult for me.. i love my dad. I could hug my uncle yet hugging dad felt strange. Perhaps cause I never really saw anyone but my niece hug on dad. My mom/dad are not affectionate to each other in front of us. I had a wonderful childhood and all do to him. I can meet a *date* the first time and say ohhh give me a hug and we do.. so why not my dad. I'm so glad I did.. and just lately have said but almost under mumbled breath ... love you.. I hate that. I want to be able to hug him and say.. Love you dad. Perhaps today it will happen.. okay.. now I'm misty eyed.. okay.. now I'm crying.. oh well. 1) What is one of your favorite memories of something you did with your dad? when little.. my mom worked second shift.. so dad would take me and my sister on rides we would travel all the backroads down by the Ohio River and look around. Or sometimes we would hook up the boat and go out on it. And other times it was vacation.. I remember being in a campground and dad riding my bike thru it. Also the time I wanted a rock polishing kit.. I got it for christmas and he played with it all the time.. and the time I wanted the Osmond Brothers album and he bought me the Osburn Brothers for christmas.. I also remember a picture of me in the hospital after I had neck surgery. I had the worst headache and the lights were down low and I had a washrag on my head and in the pic my dad looked so worried. It's all the little memories that make the BIG ONE.. okay.. I'm crying again.. LOL.. thanks Annie 2) Why did you chose the surgeon you did for WLS or why are you looking at the surgeon you are (pre-opers)? Do you still go see him or her? I went to about 3 different ones before deciding on this one. Four years ago I wanted the Lap.. it was just on the verge (I think) most were doing open. The others only did open. I researched on this site and found Dr Gersin and wanted him. However at UC there were a few different surgeons. So when I put in for it I said any surgeon there would be fine.. and fate had it I got Dr Gersin. He left the practice about a year out from my surgery. I just returned to UC for followup tho this year.. and will continue to go back there. They are an awesome group.

Hi Ann Rossana and I are in San Francisco for 4 days. We are here for her aunts 80th birthday. Her mom and cousin came with us. 1) What is one of your favorite memories of something you did with your dad? My dad left my mom when I was 3. So I don't have many memories from when I was young. My first memory was when I was 17. He came over to visit the first time and was drunk and fell down the basement stairs. Then he sued my grandmother for his error. He died at age 47 in 1983. 2) Why did you chose the surgeon you did for WLS or why are you looking at the surgeon you are (pre-opers)? Do you still go see him or her? So I chose my surgon because: Female, they pay attention to details, small hands and she talked with me as a person vs a patient. Yes I still see her once a year. We still talk like friends. Darrol

My Dad was no hunter when I was little. Well he decided once that we should go. I think I was a bout 10 years old. Well dad had an old beat up pickup truck. I mean this thing was so old and ran so bad people thought it was a diesel. Anyway he borrowed a gun from a friend and off we went one morning about 4 am. We lived in Truckee California in the Sierra Nevada mountains and the going was rough if you were walking. Well rather than get out and hike for a good spot Dad decided we should just sit in the middle of this feild inside the truck and wait for one to come walking by. Well we sat for about 2 hours and drank coffee and waited. Finally Dad got bored and decided we should go. He said he wanted to at least shoot the gun before we left (probably to ate least lye about the one that got away). Anyway he gets out and take aim at this stump and fires off a shoot. Well it was the darndest thing! About 40 Deer jumped up and ran off. The whole time him cussing trying to load another bullet. I laughed so hard I peed myself from all the coffee. We never went hunting again. He was a heck of a fisherman though! I picked my surheon just cause I liked his disposition. Very mild manored and soft spoken guy. I picked the group because they had the best reputation. I gotta say the office staff at the time really sucked though. sparky
