Wed: Liven up the Board Post
Here we go....
1) How many hours of sleep do you get on average per night? I just read a brief article that stats show that peple that get between 6.5 and 7.5 hours per night live the longest....INTERESTING!
2) When you decided to have WLS (or if you are getting ready for it)...were/are your family and friends there to support you? Do you have any naysayers?
morning Annie!
1) I average 7 - 7.5 hrs a night, I am old, I need my beauty rest! That mean's I should be around till I'm really old and ornery!
2) My family, except for my Daddy was huge supporters, they knew it was this or lose me at an early age. Friends, well a lot of them had stepped away from me, I was not fun anymore because of my health issues, so ~shrug~ My Daddy just didn't want to lose me and did not know a lot about the surgery, now he's proud of me and my transformation!
2 weeks before my surgery a good friend of mine died from her WLS, however her Dr did not have any aftercare and just let his patients go. That caused a lot of issues, people saying.. we don't want to lose you. I assured them MY SURGEON gave a crap about his patients, and their aftercare. Then I almost died on the table, but Dr. C saved my life twice that fateful day!
I average about 7-8. I gotta get at least that or I'm a cranky boy. Just ask you know who.
Everyone was very supportive! My family was great. Co-workers were amazed and asked tons of questions. Now whenever anyone at the VA is thinking about the surgery they call me. Funny, I have become the unofficial WLS rep for the VA.

My Mom was very worried but my parents supported my decision and My Sister was my biggest cheerleader along with some close friends.
Love you Annie Baby
Good morning Ann
1) I prefer seven hours, but I can get away with 5 or 6.
Thankn God we've got the best baby ever, and once he goes down, about 9ish, he's down for the night
2) Just about the time I started to seriously consider WLS, my Dad and I were talking, and he told me about a show he had seen about a teenager who had the DS ( the "Big John" documentery on Discoverey Health ) and he asked if that was anything I had thought about or had considered. He said it seemed to be something I should pursue.
Two months later, I had a date and I told my whole family at the same time, and they were all supportive.

*** Well, I probably average at least that much in a 24 hour period. But I don't usually get that much in a row. Sometimes due to baby Daniel... sometimes just cause I started having insomnia issues about a year ago. When Daniel takes his naps, I often have to nap too.
2) When you decided to have WLS (or if you are getting ready for it)...were/are your family and friends there to support you? Do you have any naysayers?
*** The people I told were supportive. Family was supportive once they realized I had researched and thought about it thoroughly. My dad was afraid -- but supportive.
