Here are mine.... 1) Christmas....the REASON for the SEASON (and not gift giving).... 2) Insurance coverage possibly going away...had been researching for 3.5 years, went to a support group and they just totally inspired me.....was tired of being tired....while I have not made it to goal YET, I have never regretted that day over 3 years ago! Your turn!!!!

1) What is your favorite holiday and why? *** I guess it would be Christmas. It is amazing to watch the kids get all excited about it. And even without kids... during the whole season, everyone is just a leetle bit nicer to each other. Then of course if you can focus on the meaning itself... 2) What pushed you over the edge to have surgery (if you have not had surgery, answer...what interests you about surgery?) *** Just totally fed up with my life and feeling out of control. Then, before I even realized I wanted to have surgery I had a revelation of sorts. I sent a simple, inquiry, email to a surgeon. Instantly I felt like a different person. A proverbial weight had been lifted. And without even realizing it I was thinking "The nightmare is almost over..." That is when I knew it was for me. .

Annie, thank you so much for keeping the board going. That being said....I'm going to make an effort to actually post instead of just lurk. Regardless of the topic, participating helps keep me on track. 1 - I would have to say Christmas is my favorite holiday. It is such a happy time and we spend a lot of time with family and friends during the season. It is great! We definitely celebrate the religious aspect of the holiday but now that we have the Choocher, we'll be able to see it through a childs eyes, again! 2 - I was totally against having surgery until I had a friend that had surgery and saw what it did for him. But, by then it was too late, my health insurance no longer covered it. Well, lost that job and, YAY, my new job covered it. I was in horrible health...I had every co-morbidity one could have. I think I finally hit the point of desparation when I was taking 14 prescribed pills per day!! Now I'm down to just one! And, it is not a pill it is a shot and Tony does all the work. I cannot stand to give myself a shot. Keep 'em coming Annie!

I have two favorit holidays the first one being christmas and that is spending time with my family and the second one is memorial weekend and that is when I spend time with all my close friends at the race track in Charlotte NC and the start the summer and warm weather. 2. What pushed me to have surgery was watching the Al Rocker special on television and seeing the significant transformation plus I knew deep inside that I was miserable with my life and that I was never going to be happy with being overweight and I did not want to develope any comorbities or have a heart attack before I was 40. Plus I would never of decided to go back to school to be a nurse if I did not have the surgery. Great questions Annie Hugs Tricia

I'm a day late answering.....but I will anyway! 1) What is your favorite holiday and why? I guess I'll have to go against the grain and say it isn't Christmas for me. I don't know....anymore it just seems that Christmas has lost its meaning for me. I spend so much time running around, worrying about finding the right gifts, did I buy enough, did I spend enough, etc that it just ruins the holiday. I don't get that warm fuzzy feeling, I don't get that sense of peace that I should get.....the 'reason for the season' seems to be lost in my small part of the world. It's a shame and somehow I need to find it again. So with that being said.....I don't know what my favorite holiday really is. I guess any holiday where I'm with family and friends is my favorite. No stress over buying presents, no stress over who is making what, no stress over who is going where and when.....just everyone together for a few hours enjoying each other's company. That's the perfect holiday for me. 2) What pushed you over the edge to have surgery (if you have not had surgery, answer...what interests you about surgery?) I think what pushed me over the edge was the fact that I could only watch life....I couldn't participate anymore. I could barely walk, I could barely move. My niece was a newborn and I knew I'd miss out on so much of her life because I couldn't do anything...and I didn't want to be known as 'the fat aunt'.

1) What is your favorite holiday and why? I guess christmas.. I altho it's my favorite because of what I want it to be.. not exactly what it's been. I want the carriage rides in the snow looking at city lights.. warm fireplaces.. stolling the city and listening to christmas carolers.. all of course while holding hands with someone that I love. 2) What pushed you over the edge to have surgery (if you have not had surgery, answer...what interests you about surgery?) getting into a job that actually covered it. I switched companies.. I received a call from someone wanting benefits for WLS.. lo and behold.. we covered it. So then I started researching again..
