ashamed....
If you are actually ashamed, then please do a lot more than watching a movie and crying. It takes action. Greatest form of patriotism is just "wanting" America to be the best?
Sorry... you need to do more. Send the VA a couple of bucks, write several letters to congressman about increasing veterans rights... I know I lean this way being a veteran of two services, but even with all the years serving my country I still write the letters and send a couple of bucks and send patriotic pens over to our servicemen...
Do something... anything... Stand up for your beliefs? ... yep, and once you are up, grab your checkbook... send some food over to the troops who are fighting and dying...
It's a real bummer of a movie and as far as i can tell no one has contested the info in it. It was definitely not enjoyable to watch but important. The things that are being done by those that represent us are not things that are in accordance with American principles or even American laws. It's outrageous. I can't believe that ANY Americans, regardless of party loyalties, would support these things. (of course pressures are put on people like John McCain to gain their silence if not their support.)
9/11 certainly did change the rules.
I agree with Marc about the checkbook thing to an extent, just not in how to use it. I want change and if my checkbook is one of the ways i can exert my power to bring that about, i'm going to use it to support change, not torture. But i'm not going to tell other people how to stand up for their beliefs, I just want as many people as possible to know as much as possible before making their decisions.
On a lighter note, if you want to watch something that will make you smile, check out Lars and the Real Girl. I think you'd really like that, Rhonda. It was a good movie and a real hoot.
There, i recommended one movie that will make you feel bad, but also one that will make you feel good.
