Quote(s) of the Day..

actually there are two.. by the same person. The first one reminds me of a saying that I (and some others) use.. even as of just yesterday! "When I hear somebody sigh, "Life is hard," I am always tempted to ask, "Compared to what?"" ~ Sydney J. Harris I don't really have an answer to *that* yet.. but I suppose she's right. I use that phrase alot and I think I should rethink it.. I guess a hard life still beats the alternative. At least for now.. what's your insight.. is Life Hard.. ? or do we sometimes just make it hard.. ? "The three hardest tasks in the world are neither physical feats nor intellectual achievements, but moral acts: to return love for hate, to include the excluded, and to say, "I was wrong"." ~ Sydney J. Harris so... how are *you* at handling these three hard tasks... are do YOU even attempt it? have a wonderful HUMP DAY

I have a belief that what you think or say helps to create your reality. So..I used to say "I hate my life!" when something happened that I didn't like. I decided to change my thinking, and now I'll say "I hate when things like that happen!". So I guess my thought on saying "Life is hard!" is the same kind of thing. Although I can certainly relate to the feeling that life is hard.

I do think life can be hard but I know my own mind set makes it even harder. I'm reading The Secret...never thought I would but I'm finding some eye opening things about "Barb". I'm a work in progress and Oh Lord I need alot of work but I'm giving myself an "A" for trying. Morning Sweet Girl

I just try to remember that whatever I have going on and think it is "the worst", I try to remember that someone else will have it worse than I do. So, where I'm defeated in some attempt to help an employee and I take things too personally, or ***** about not having a bf (and I'm driving), I either see someone or think about someone I've talked to that is without a house, going to churches to try and get their kids food, and the ones who are completely hopeless and taking those pills or the pistol and ending their life. All I can say is "Thank you God". Those people could be any of us or we could be any of them; our choices made the difference. A man works next door for another agency and we talk on the elevator most everyday. He has had skin melanoma, a malignant lump removed from his shoulder, and a grapefruit sized malignant tumor removed from his rectum. This man now has to wear a colostomy bag for the rest of his life; he's around late 50's. He told me one day that he tells people about all of these things not to make people feel sorry for him, but to make them feel better about themselves. And if you ever ask him "how are you today", he smiles and says I woke up blessed because I have one more day on this beautiful planet and one day closer to my mansion in Heaven. He's so happy he ****** me off sometimes. Actually, I have a great deal of admiration for him. Great man...

Hey See-ster..... I'm sneaking in for a quick fix! I love the quotes today.....how appropriate. I have to agree with what the others have said....and not just for convenience sake! For "Life is Hard", I do think that we make life harder, at times, than it needs to be. A couple of months ago I read a few inspirational books on how to improve your outlook on life. Basically it came down to improving your attitude. If you walk around with a negative attitude....life will always suck. Nothing will be fun, there will be no joy in life. But, even if you have problems, if you learn to embrace the small joys in life and tackle your problems head-on with a positive attitude....you'll be much happier with yourself and the problems won't seem quite so insurmountable. I know it sounds very simplistic but it seems to be working for me. That and getting laid on a regular basis. The three tasks.....well.....if our world leaders would embrace that philosophy .... there'd be a lot less war!

I try not to go down the life i hard road but sometimes its hard not too i am getting better at it you know i was watching a movie a few yrs ago i am sure you all have heard of it its called Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and there is a lil girl in it who is sick and to quote her in my own words " Maybe happyness in life is stringing together all the little good things and making them count for morn than the bad stuff" now that is not the exact wording but this is what i got out of what she said so everytime i think about "Life is Hard" i think of this and it brings me back down.

I don't exactly use the saying "Life is hard" but if I did and someone said "Compared to what?" I would probably say "Bite Me!"...

Everyone else said it and summarized it very well....yes life can be difficult, but attitude, the way you deal with things, the people you surround yourself with, etc. help make things not so bad..... I love the second quote...I believe in the three hard tasks....very much so.....pride sometimes takes over I get too selfish at times....but doing the acts...are the most right thing we can do..... Keep the quotes coming sister Rhondie....love it! xoxo
