Does your voice give you away?
Do any of you have the tone of your voice give away your feelings of the moment? I was just on the phone with my supervisor discussing two employees and their problems. She stops and tells me it's going to be ok and just don't give up. I asked her if I sounded that defeated and yes, I did.
I cannot stand it when I show weakness at work. Today, though, I wish I was my cat. Sophie is probably lying in bed which is still warm from the electric blanket, all the food she wants, no noise except for when the blowers turn on, and dreaming of chasing a feathered toy. Sounds very nice right now.
*ahem*
The tone of my voice ALWAYS gives me away...when I am mad...Martin always says I have "that tone" to my voice.. I have not a clue what he is talking about...but somehow he knows.
Same with being upset/sad/defeated I have that *life sux and then you die* kinda whang to my words...I HATE it that he can read me so well
Although having "THE TONE" to my voice when I call insurance companies all day sometimes helps...I intimidate the hell out of little insurance reps
