Update on Amir

Well I talked to Amir sunday night.. he's starting week 2 of basic training and sounded great.. he was laughing about how some of the drill instructors know many of the guys names already but so far he's remained under their radar and they dont know his name yet.. The first week was rough he had to remake his bunk 4x before he got it right.. I told him I am not surprised he never made his bed when he lived at home AHAHA... He got his rifle and you could hear the excitment in his voice about that one.. much to my dismay!!! He will be starting the obsticle course this week and can't wait.. He said he's lost about 10lbs.. but he's eating fine just doing a lot of running and pushups... Again I have to say how proud I am of this young man... the changes he's made in his life in such a short amount of time would have overwhelmed the best of us... Debby

It makes my heart swell with pride everytime I read about Amir!!! Please let him know he has alot of people who are impressed as heck with him and we're thinking about him and praying for him! I know you miss him terribly, but he has certainly pulled himself up by the bootstraps and he will be fine!!! The gun thing...every boy's (man's) dream lol.

Yay! That makes me so very happy to hear. It takes a lot of courage and effort to do the things he's doing and I applaud him for that!! Let him know he's got a couple of fans cheering him on here in TX!! Love ya! Cathy & Ron too!
