I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words about Amir leaving, I would post thank you to each of you but frankly I am to lazy.. he is now at Ft. Benning GA probably thinking "What the hell was I thinking" like most new recruits do the first few weeks of basic... I will update you all as I hear from him.. I have a good friend who is also my ex that was stationed at Ft.Benning ...we had to break up because he re-enlisted ... and went Air bourne and ended up at Fort Bragg ...10 yrs later ... today he is still in ... I think he is in Italy now but he has loved it and made a career out of it ... I really think he will spend the rest of his life in ... but he loves it. Hope your son enjoys it as he has.

Ya know Becky with this kid I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if he stayed in for 20 years. Before he left he slept, ate and dreamed Army. He was more prepared than anyone I've ever seen to go in. As a matter of fact he knew so much about rank and stuff they actually gave him a promotion to E-2 before he ever left. I told him before he left how proud I was of him. He only called 4 times while he was in route to basic. I asked him if he was nervouse and of course he's a tough and kinda stammered around a little and then I told him when I was in your place many years ago I was scared ****tless! Thats when he said he was a little nervouse. He's a great kid and has come a long way and has over come so much. Me and his Momma are very proud of him. Now we just have one more to go. He's working every day and doing well. We are proud of him too. Deb and I are blessed with some good kids. The Lord is great. Have a good Saturday! I have to sit here and be bored silly all weekend! My wife won't let me do nothin Hugs sweetie, OH AND CONGRATS ON THE DATE!!!!!! I remember when I got mine after the long fight. I didn't realize how emotional the moment would be.
