IF YOU LIVE IN MISSISSIPPI you'd better start writing your Congressmen now. Idiots. ****** Meet Republicans W. T. Mayhall, Jr. and John Read, and Democrat Bobby Shows. These three idiots are members of Mississippi's House of Representatives and came up with one of the dumbest bills in history. They are proposing a bill that will make it illegal for state-licensed restaurants to serve obese people. That means anybody with a BMI of 30 or above won't be able to eat with everybody else. This is a problem since 30% of the state is considered obese. The two page document states that any restaurant that breaks the law could get their license pulled. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2008/0201081fat1.html .

Yes, we have missed you. Don't be a stranger! OK, how can this bill even be considered and what type of dumbass would even try it? I mean, talk about a civil liberties violation. If obese people can't eat out, then they'd cook at home. Then the next bill would make it illegal for stores to sell food to obese people. So, would the state be going to food prohibition? I wonder what prejudiced group forced this lawmaker to even go out on a limb to do that? He must owe his entire job to a certain section that hates fat folks. This screams of past civil rights issues. When is th ACLU going on the attack?

I saw Steve's response to this today and realized I must have missed this post.. I have heard about it elsewhere but... Here is my opinion... Are they going to test the BMI of each customer? no. Are they going to go by a persons size? probably.. Never judge a book by its cover. I am still considered overweight (pre-pregnancy weight)... but ONLY by .04 ... so, if I gain a pound or two, I will be obese and not be able to eat at these restaurants. However, I dont look as though I am considered Obese. What I am trying to say.. in the longest way ever evidentally... is there will be so many lawsuits filed due to discrimination IF this were to ever pass anyway. It will lead to way more work for them if it were to ever pass than they would ever want to face. Irritates the hell out of me.. but I honestly dont think they have a leg to stand on. Guaranteed W. T. Mayhall, Jr. and John Read, and Bobby Shows have a BMI of over 30. Losers.
