Medical Drama
Sorry this is so long...
Okay so I posted about how I had to go to the ER and they put me on blood thinners and told me to come back Monday for a test. So I was in pain all Saturday and Sunday, so long as I kept my leg warm and didn't move too much it was bearable. Thankfully I had my dad to take care of me and bring me stuff. Sunday night I had an awful headache and my leg hurt so bad that I couldn't take it anymore, Tylenol was not touching the pain at all so got a headache pill from my mom and that stopped the pain in my head and leg. It isn't something I can take that often because of Felicity as there is not concrete research on the medication and the effect during pregnancy though it is believed to be safe. So from 1:00am-6:00am Monday morning I slept with no pain then my leg started to hurt again though not as bad.
So I called the hospital at 7:30 to find out about the test an make sure they had an order for it since I was not given one, I figured the ER would just submit it. Well I was wrong about that, they hadn't and the attitude I got from the people I was talking to was just call your doctor. So my question is why did I go to the ER in the first place, I mean my doc could have called in a prescription for blood thinner and then called the test in herself. Anyway I called my doctors office when they opened at eight, the nurse took a message and said they would call back. I called them back at 9:30, they still hadn't done anything about ordering the test. I explained that I couldn't afford to keep paying for the blood thinner if I didn't absolutely need it so finding out sooner than later was the ideal solution! Plus I was in so much pain I was crying so that motivated them and they got it worked out.
Went for the test and as I was sitting waiting my leg started to feel better and before they even did the test the pain was gone. Anyway they did the Venous Doppler and didn't find any blood clots.
I saw my doctor today for the headaches I have been having and she thinks I have a sinus infection so prescribe an antibiotic and allergy medicine. I was taking sudafed but she thinks that is giving me dry eye and contributing to the headaches so I have to stop that. She offered no suggestions on the cause of the pain and basically suggested I seek medical attention if it happened again.
So long story short...the ER trip was a complete waste of money...but I guess you can never be too careful. Felicity and I are doing fine now so with luck and a prayer the leg pain won't happen again.
