So here in East Tennessee we got our first "taste" of winter weather. No not beautiful, fluffy, cleansing, let's go out and build a snowman snow....just freakin' dangerous, aggravating, hip breaking BLAC****!! I leave for work at approximately 6:54am. At 8:40am I am less then 6 miles from home. Over 77 wrecks over all from 7am until 8:30am and there are STILL more happening. I just got into work at 9:48am. A trip that normally takes less then 30 minutes. So I am sitting in the traffic jam from HELL when this FUD-RUCKER in a big Ford F250 decides that he is over the traffic jam and comes over into MY lane to try and pass...now mind you there are about 5000 vehicles in front of us in the north bound lane of Alcoa Highway and at LEAST that many more on the SOUTH bound side so NO ONE is going anywhere...even emergency vehicles were stuck because no one could get out of their way!! Anyway, he comes over into my lane and then GUNS his motor...ON BLAC****his vehicle starts sliding and the bed of his truck is about two inches from slamming into the passenger side of my car. Luckily, I was in an area where there was a flat grassy median and got over just in time...WHAT A MAROON!!! The good thing about it was an Alcoa police officer was one of the emergency vehicles that was stuck and he was about 4 vehicles behind us and saw the WHOLE thing!! THe policeman calmy gets out of his car and walks up to my car, asked if I was okay, I said "yes officer, (in the sweetest- best southern-damsel-in-distress voice I could muster) but if he is going to drive like that someone WON'T be okay". He started laughing and said "don't worry" and he calmly walked up to the Ford driving COD-KNOCKER, pecked on his window, asked him what he thought he was accomplishing by THAT little maneuver and I heard the guy try to tell him it was MY fault, that I am the one who tried to get over and HE had to move out of MY way. The cop just listened and turned around and looked at me who (again, in my best southern-damsel-in distress style) threw up my hands and rolled my eyes So the policeman says, "well, heres the deal, I was about 30 yards behind you back there and we have what we call traffic cams mounted on the driver and passenger side of our vehicles. SO we can do this one of two ways, I can go ahead and give you a ticket for unlawful lane changing and speeding OR I can submit this video to the judge and let HIM decide what you need to be cited for, it's up to you. Now, considering that you basically shoved this lady over into the median, it's blac**** and traffic is at a stand still, I am not sure but I can pretty much guess the judge will decide this is an EASY case of reckless driving and with the video thats enough evidence to pretty much cost you in the several hundred dollar range plus a possible suspension of your F endorsement driving privledges." He took the ticket "bless his heart" OH! and he also got him for no insurance....now this guy's truck was a business truck for some pest control company so he was driving a BUSINESS vehicle with NO insurance!! He really blasted him after that so this guy might lose his F endorsement anyway. He heeeeeee I would LOVE to have been a fly on the dashboard of that guy's truck after he got his ticket. Not that I hold a grudge or anything Anyway, just wanted to share.

Well, I'm glad you're ok. If anything else, I would've tried big ol' alligator tears as you said your sweet stuff. Those dash cams are worth EVERY penny taxes pay for them. I just wonder what the dude's boss said. Bless his heart... Liz PS: we had a wee bit o' ice that made every fool think it was Ice Storm 2008. Employees will lie about anything to get an extra day off work. I'm sitting here with flu like symptoms and over 100 callers. I think I'll go home. But, if I stayed, I could infect everyone...bless their hearts.

That officer was where he was suppose to be at that moment so I am glad that things worked out. Yeah between the ice, snow, cold, windchill AND the drivers that can't drive when the weather gets crappy not sure what I hate most about MN!! Funny that it was a "pest" control company truck.... He sure fit that bill Glad that things worked out for you!!
