Ambien?! anyone?!
Okay so I remember reading something about Jay and Kellee maybe taking this before. I just was prescribed it and I hate to take pills but I have to sleep! What were your experiences on this medication? Im a freak about taking new things and just was wondering how it was for other people. Thanks for any info
I just recently started taking it myself. My doc allows me 8 a month. My primary issue is not falling asleep, but waking many times through-out the night. He said that if I take it, 3-4 nights in a row, it should help get my sleep cycle back on track. I do get a full nights sleep, but I dont like the way I feel in the morning. Just really groggy as if I can't recover from the medicine. I end up taking them on the weekends when I really really need a boost. I supplement duirng the week with melatonin which does make a huge difference in the amount of times I wake up. I dont take the ambien every weekend. I do think they have made a small difference in my sleep cycle. I dont feel dependant on them. I take them when I have had a crappy week sleep wise (due to stress, working an extra job etc.,) and I know I can sleep in and enjoy my morning. I just hate to take them during the week because my job is such that I cant be even the slightest bit dopey feeling..I'd rather be tired feeling if that makes sense. Hope this helps! Good luck to you.
DON'T TAKE IT!!!! In my experience and my mother's...it is addictive and you can end up doing things while on it that you don't remember...including sleep walking or eating. I have heard of people doing some dangerous things, lighting candles and stuff and not being aware of it. Which is why I tell people that they shouldn't take it especially if you live alone.
I take them but rarely....I am like Dawn...nothing during the week (except I did on Tuesday night since I barely slept Monday night)....I took one last night and slept VERY WELL and hope I did not do anything in my sleep I know I got up and went to the bathroom and that is it....I heard of someone getting up in the middle of the night and eating a whole cake and they never knew until their spouse saw the cake was gone in the morning and the other spouse had it all over their face...ugh....
I truly think it affects everyone different though....but for me I take it rarely and it is when I know I can get some sleep....tylenol pm may work for some too.....
why you taking it???
getting ready for your surgery missy? i am so happy for you!!!!
BAD! BAD! BAD!
Jay is not good on them at all and it sounds like a common side effect based on what others have stated. He remember anything he says or does... which frankly is more hazardous than not sleeping. I took it once (after an EXTREMELY stressful day) and Jay said he almost took me to the ER.
What else have you tried?
I was taking this stuff called trazadone but I got put on a new medication so I was unable to take that anymore ... I then started smoking a joint before bed every night, now that I am having surgery I cannot smoke (which is totally fine with me) but I have insomnia and cant sleep so I need something to help me ... asked my doctor and this is what she prescribed me. Im sort of nervous to take it after hearing all of this ... I know it effect everyone differently but I sure would hate to eat a whole cake or do other stuff I may not remember (what if I take all my clothes off and go outside ... OMG) its scary. I will figure it out. Thanks for all the replies you guys ROCK!
i tried that trazadone too. it made my heart race
also tried seroquil (sp). that stuff was too strong for me. I wast still out of it the entire next day, to the point that people were asking me if was ok.
right now the only thing that seems to help me is xanax.
hope you find one that fits for you. insomnia sucks.. (hence my still being awake. almot 3 am. now my foster dog wants to play. argh. I'd throw her outside but its like 5 degrees. brrrrrrrrrrrrr....
